Very good documentary. Worth watching for any here who haven't seen it yet.

I like how it starts off with the Phoenix lights incident.

Although i believe the airforce tried to obsfucate the sighting later in the evening. They simply dont look like flares to me. The colour profile is wrong. Flares leave an illuminated billow of smoke above them thats easy to identify.

That being said i dont think the lights seen by the majority of the witnesses in proximity to the city later in the evening are anything alien either. I believe the air force was doing training with a different sort of technology designed to spoof and confuse enemy radar. the technology is often mistaken for ufos. Very Often.

Earlier in the evening over many parts of the state of Arizona witnesses reported seeing something immense that was chevron shaped. Again i dont think this was alien either. If you google J P Aerospace and look for their Orbital Ascender concept you'll see a proposed, extremely large, heavy lift vehicle intended for carrying payloads into low earth orbit without the need for rockets. It looks almost exactly like what witnesses saw. It also resembles what witness saw during the Hudson valley "boomerang" flap in the mid 80s. Large chevron shaped vehicles. One could argue many reasons why some people would want a quiet way to deliver things into orbit without everyone knowing. What are the odds the military or intelligence community were designing things similar to what the above mentioned company has a decade or more earlier?

One item of contention i have is the whole rendalshim forest affair they feature about halfway through. That story keeps changing and reeks of embellishments and borderline hoax in relation to the original accounts. It went from guys seeing a light in the woods maneuvering oddly in between trees. To the guys claiming lasers beams, missing time, telepathy with binary coded messages. And the witnesses dont agree with what happened that night. One of the most outspoken keeps evolving the story into wilder and more outlandish tales. Something smells fishy with that story.

But overall this is a very good documentary with lots of good sightings featured.

I agree with the statement "i know what i saw" personally i find it an insult to most witnesses when the highly unusual object or thing they've sighted gets passed off as swamp gas or simply a helicopter or what not. Although misidentification often does occur a lot of what people see are not simply airplanes, drones, migrating geese and temperature inversions. They're really seeing something different. Where i think people go wrong is what they attribute the objects as being. Namely alien.

Hi thehairyone. Good post. I rate that James Fox directed video very highly. The Phoenix Lights are certainly top 5 on the all time Earthly sightings list due to the number of eyewitnesses and the detail and gigantic size of the craft. This is without doubt a major sighting.

Have watched ‘I Know What I Saw’ a number of times before, there is usually something else to glean from an extra viewing. Unlike bassplyr, I don’t think there is a snowball’s chance in hell the gigantic 1 to 2 MILE wide object that flew low and in complete silence in the early evening over many thousands of people could have been made here on Earth.

I do give credibility to the many qualified observers, including pilots, who saw this incredible chevron shaped craft first hand. Speculation that the US had the technology to build a craft like that over 20 years ago does not make any sense at all. Remember, we are talking of a spacecraft 1 to 2 miles wide! The easiest and most logical explanation is most definitely alien. I have no problems with that.

I believe this incredibly vast universe of space and time is teeming with life and it is not a long stretch of the imagination to accept technologically advanced ET beings from other worlds are exploring space and observing other worlds. Just like we are now starting to do.

Its a chevron. And each wing is 6,000 feet long. Its even got glowing lights going over its charged leading edge and a bright glow from MHD thrusters positioned along its wings.

Pretty sure the military or reconnaissance office could build a few of these. Its off the shelf technology and could float heavy payloads into space both on the cheap and on the down low. Just launch it away from prying eyes. Like in the middle of the ocean. Who knows maybe one had a malfunction and got off course in the jet stream on its way up or down and people saw it.

Of course in a galaxy as filled with stars there is a good chance of intelligent aliens. But not as high as the drake equation first figured. Latest science shows heavy scepticism that the planets in the theoretical goldilocks zones in our local cluster of stars have all the ingredients necessary such as large amounts of phosphorus.

G’day bassplyr. Interesting to read about JP Aerospace. Those guys sure are looking to the future and I wish them well in their venture to explore space. However, sort of reminds me of similar talk of a Space Elevator and that's a long way from happening.

However, to suggest (tongue in cheek?) they have built a mile wide craft over 20 years ago and flew it over Arizona down to Phoenix is wishful thinking at its best! Firstly, JPA are a volunteer based DIY company that makes lighter than air balloons. I don’t think they were even around in March, 1997 when the Phoenix Lights sighting occurred, let alone fully developed a fantastic concept craft like the Orbital Ascender, which probably only exists in engineer's minds and the drawing board.

Also, the eyewitness reports of the world’s largest mass UFO sighting in no way match the characteristics of an airship. The Phoenix object was observed to move away at a fantastic speed. Next explanation please… It’s still for me!

Not saying jpa are responsible or that it was even their vehicle. Just pointing out an example that its very possible such things can be built and that odds are good that others in MIC have beaten them to the punch decades earlier. Especially when considering things like hudson valley. And the obvious need for such a system.

But back to the Phoenix lights. The first sighting was in Henderson nevada. An hour later in paulden/Prescott. The object was travelling roughly 150mph. Pretty slow. Not a particularly fantastic speed. Reports of its size ranged from 747 to two miles. 250 feet to 10,500 feet in size) Cant really take much stock in the witnesses if the discrepancy between the two is that large. Almost all witnesses said the object was travelling low and fairly slow. A few witnesses claim the lights were part of a solid object others say they saw the lights behave as if individuals flying in formation with one of the trailing lights breaking formation to move up closer to the lead lights.

Sound more down to earth than alien to me.

Heres something tongue n cheek maybe things more advanced than the sr71 or spaceshuttle have been invented and operational for several decades now.

Hi bassplyr. Re the Phoenix lights and the reported size of the object, there were plenty of sightings where the craft flew directly overhead and all of these estimates of size were a mile or even two. That’s a close observation and a more accurate one.

If a witness saw the craft from a distance, say 10 to 20 miles in a clear sky, there would be no reference to gauge size or distance, so if it looked the size of a Jumbo from their viewpoint, then that’s what they would think. A bit of relativity creeps in here! Size and speed are relative to the position of the observer.

As for the Space Shuttle and SR 71, of course they are now redundant as they represent the technology of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. The development of the triangle shaped TR3B spacecraft represents the future. It will be nice when it is finally revealed to the public. By that time there will be another super advanced craft already being secretly flown…

I really don’t see how you or anyone else can say they are ‘positive’ the gigantic Stephenville craft was not alien in origin. The fact is earthlings are not yet building flying machines a mile long! All I know of this case is what I have read and interviews I have watched on video. In “I Know What I Saw’, Ricky Sorrell was right underneath it and had a very good look through his rifle sights. He estimated it was a mile wide and took three minutes to pass overhead. Police constable Lee Roy Gaiten also gave a very believable account of what he saw.

It’s an impressive case and one I again would call an unknown alien craft as I simply do not believe anything this size and incredible performance can be currently made on this planet. I suggest anybody in doubt should go outside and refresh their memories about how long a wing of 1-2 miles would be!

Kurt Russell was flying his kid to Pheonix and reported an unknown aircraft "with six lights in the shape of a triangle" over Pheonix airport .

Years later his wife (Goldie) was watching a story about ufos and the Pheonix lights was mentioned . This caught his attention . He listened as the program mentioned that 20,000 people reported the lights and one pilot . Guess who the pilot was .
