How an Academic deals with his own Yowie Sighting....
This is a transcript of an interview we did recently with a Paleoanthropologist / archaeologist who came face to face with a Yowie while doing a field study in the Mt. Warning area in June of 2017. He was extremely well spoken and articulate, and is still struggling somewhat with what he encountered. He feels he can't come forward with his find to his fellow academics because it will harm his career.
If we put the Witness Audio Interview Report up, which is one of the best in my opinion due to his knowledge, we would have to disguise his voice.

That is a fantastic report, well done Dean. It might perhaps be worth keeping in contact with this person as it's not often that an academic with his / her qualifications are willing to talk about the subject matter.

It should be up to the critics to disprove what this fellow has claimed to have seen.
He is obviously an intelligent individual, well educated and could speak with some authority on the subject given his area of expertise.
I just don’t see what it is they expect to achieve by suppressing the known existing of the Yowie ??

It is probably a matter of timing and subtlety for an academic to introduce something like this. Timing in terms of when more pieces of marginal evidence are uncovered (bones), subtlety in terms of asking incremental questions and making incremental suggestions.AL Pitman wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2019 12:21 pm It should be up to the critics to disprove what this fellow has claimed to have seen.

If somebody is too bold, I would suggest they would risk not being invited to studies, not being invited to reviews, expeditions, not being able invited to speak, to attend conferences etc. All of this adds to one's career and directly or indirectly puts money in the bank and food on the table.
It must be hard to risk that. Some might be more willing than others, and time will likely change things.
Awesome report Dean

Re: How an Academic deals with his own Yowie Sighting....
There is no reason to disbelieve anything this Paleoanthropologist/Archeologist has said he reported it has he saw it But he reported it was a hominid, not a hominin but then states it had a combination of both human and ape-like appearance so not entirely a hominid.
Towards the end of his report, he mentions the legend of this animal (can't be an animal if it has human features) was that they were taking Aboriginal women by force and may have been breeding with them.
This is exactly what Bigfoot were doing with the Native American women and children on a regular basis yet the was no evolved appearance in Bigfoot you would have thought otherwise if human DNA was involved.
These marauding Bigfoot were the reason the Choctaw Indians conjured up the Nashoba Chitto to counteract these attacks.
Great testament though just don't entirely agree with the analyses. Not sure whether this comment should be on here or the Controversial, Conjecture and Fringe Subject Matter section.

Re: How an Academic deals with his own Yowie Sighting....
I think your comment adds historical background to the thread Senses ! .
I personally am fed up with how easy it is for the sceptical and/or the self interest brigade to discount or suppress witness reports, weather they be paranormal or other without having to provide a real scientific rebuttal as they demand scientific evidence of the sighting or report.
It’s as if they have coerced, lied and cheated their way into positions of authority whereby their commentary is accepted as gossipal .
I say no more , they simply hide or write off a sighting or an experience without backing up their retort without supporting scientific data or evidence.
It’s to easy to say , but we have no bones or DNA samples are inconclusive.
Why are they inconclusive? I say because they will not allow the study of anything outside of what already is known and so they have nothing to cross reference from .
Anyway that’s my little rant for the arvo but hopefully you can see where I am pointing the bone ..

WOW ! Thanks Dean !
If the witness is reading this , thank you so much for coming forward !
It is a vindication of sorts (although we already knew) .
I do know as a fact that scientists in Australia (don't know how many) already KNOW of the existence of these creatures . I would guess it would eventually be a soft disclosure .

It’s an amazing Report to listen to. I would like to get it up to add more weight. Reading it is one thing, listening is the key.
There were a couple of Hominin/Hominid conflicts, however he did say he was very nervous and corrected a couple of points days later. Clearly educated and articulate. Regarding the points I needed to clarify, I emailed him a couple of days ago.
I found it insightful.

You could probably add a voice transformer to the interview . I do have one which would turn the witnesses voice into the opposite sex of the witness . Voices can be lowered or raised in tone . I'll have a muck around with it to see if it works .
"I haven't reported it elsewhere as from what I have seen , your Directors/ Admin appear to keep things quite professional ."
I know I keep banging on about this , but this is the exact reason we must keep to the facts . This guy chose OUR website to disclose his encounter . We have no idea who's watching and maybe someday , someone may just hand us the golden opportunity which we've all patiently waited for . It's not an impossibility .
"The tide is turning" , let's keep it professional .

Re: How an Academic deals with his own Yowie Sighting....
Once again we here of a Yowie sighting around an Indigenous Heritage site it appears these are the areas to go to maybe catch up with a Yowie.
Much like Bigfoot and Dogman having been known to frequent sacred Native American heritage land specifically sacred burial grounds in reference to Dogman.
It suggests to me there is more to these creatures than just a scientific explanation.

Re: How an Academic deals with his own Yowie Sighting....
We posted another Mt. Warning today which mentions indigenous aspects, but more importantly tonight we recorded another of these so called Dogman sightings.
It’s hard to fathom, but it’s not the first. This would be the most compelling of all.
Far easier when a witness is describing a Hominid or Hominin, which I’m more familiar with.

As sneaky as he is coming to us anonymously, he will never loosen his academic chains to understand what Yowie really is.
Those years of study isnt going to help him here.
Im glad I never went to Uni.
Loved the detail of his description though. Turning around and heading back down the mountain may seem chicken but was probably the wisest thing to do.
Challenging the Yowie to a staring contest would have caused it to attack.

Re: How an Academic deals with his own Yowie Sighting....
I guess this question has been posed previously!
But is it plausible to think that a witness report stating a Dog Man sighting is really the sighting of a Yowie.
I could imagine how easy it would be to misidentify the subject, especially if it was concealed in bushes or by the surrounding terrain.
Additionally given such a small genetic gene pool available to Yowie is it also possible the witness may have actually seen a specimen with some type of facial deformity ??
It’s interesting and intriguing stuff for sure !!!

I agree with you AL to the possibility of misidentifying a Yowie with a Dogman especially if the Yowie is partly concealed but if a Dogman was fully exposed there would be no confusion so long as the identifier was familiar with what they were looking at.AL Pitman wrote: Thu Sep 26, 2019 10:50 am I guess this question has been posed previously!

Scientific evidence is the only way yowie will be recognised regardless of what we believe or have experienced. We get enough real solid evidence then we can preserve old hairy mates habitat and maybe make this shitty planet a better place.ripperton wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2019 9:36 pm As sneaky as he is coming to us anonymously, he will never loosen his academic chains to understand what Yowie really is.

Re: How an Academic deals with his own Yowie Sighting....
At the time of the report in June 2017, this witness was working as an archaeologist. Archaeology is concerned with the excavation of sites and the search for artifacts and analysis thereof. Yet the report is now being written from the point of view of a paleoanthropologist student who is also an archaeologist.
I would love to see or hear what his raw first impressions at the time, from the point of view of an archaeologist only, were. I can only assume that as an academic, he recorded his sighting comprehensibly at the time?
I find it interesting he was so startled by the sight his eyes were blasted with, that he didn't even think to use the camera he was carrying on him. It's typical witness behaviour, but I'd like to know where on him, the camera was?
I have a hundred questions. Did I miss the time of day this happened at?

He said the same thing during the interview.
Like most witnesses, when you are suddenly and unexpectedly confronted by one only metres away, the last thing you're thinking of is your camera. Perfectly understandable. He went over this in the interview. He said, sure, now in hindsight he would have loved to, but at the time it wasn't an option or priority - saving his own life was. He didn't know what it may have done and he was isolated and alone.
Perfectly understandable.

Yowie is recognised by us. Thats 10 times more important than being recognised by academia.Scientific evidence is the only way yowie will be recognised regardless of what we believe or have experienced.

I think in terms of not taking a photo.. I have an experience where I was sitting on my deck I look down and there is. A Baby brown snake sitting under me. Now looking at my cctv cameras it had been there a good few minutes before I noticed. I was holding my phone at the time. Anyway I was so startled by it I forgot to take a photo to show snake catcher and by the time I realised it was too late.. so I'd say similar thing would happen with a yowie..

Additionally
This chap stated that he had traversed the ridge purely for the purpose of gaining a height advantage from which to survey the land from a geological standpoint.
He was obviously not expecting to run into cousin it whilst doing so and therefore I would imagine that he was taken aback and the whole camera thing simply would have been an after thought..

Re: How an Academic deals with his own Yowie Sighting....
Er, well, no actually.
Being recognised by academia is VERY important as these people have the ear of Govt Ministers.
Govt Depts depend on academic reports to make decisions on funding for the establishment of Parks and funding for their upkeep.
I would imagine that, should evidence be presented that the Bush Ape is living in such-and-such an area then it would be given the highest level of protection possible. Of course, we understand that the species would not know where the boundaries were, and may venture outside, but at least it would have a safe haven (not that I think anyone is out to harm them deliberately).
I am prepared to believe that some Parks & Wildlife staff already know about the existence of the species and deliberately just keep quiet to leave it alone.
A forum like this is great as it allows reports to be disseminated and discussed, but, IMO it carries little weight with the Powers that be (and that's no reflection on Dean or anyone else here, including me.) But that might change in the future if someone from this forum came forward with irrefutable evidence.
Cheers,
MA

Yes great report
I thought I would throw this in there, the issue in the sighting that everyone has missed or not discussed. The academic said the closest thing to it looking like was Homo Naledi. Obviously with a bit more hair I would say?
Now this is nothing like what I have seen, but it raises the question..... how many "species" (if I can use that word for now) if discovered today would there be?

Perhaps if there was a purse of $cash put up for the delivery of actual results then we may see academia rise to the post.
As they are frightened to upset the apple cart in fear of losing their position.
Then the lure of a considerable sum of money may open a few closed doors .
The viewing of related topical docos , literature even charging for access to the Yowie Times and many other things could be utilised to raise funds to support research by qualified groups or individuals .
