Australasian Hominid video

Hi folks,

I’ve just launched a new YouTube video.

In this presentation I’ve tried to demonstrate how it is scientifically plausible that a non sapiens hominid could have inhabited the Australian mainland before modern sapiens arrived, and may still be here.

I think this is important because that issue always creates an extra layer of perceived impossibility to the yowie discussion.

Enjoy.

Another absolutely stunning presentation, Bÿrn! Your depth of knowledge and understanding of the subject is truely amazing. I have learnt so much from both your lectures.

May I respectfully suggest a couple of things that would bring your videos to an even higher level... Firstly, a second camera to provide a medium to close shot of your good self presenting. Most people not at the lecture and watching on YouTube would like to see who is speaking. A little more editing, but well worth it. Secondly, a roving radio microphone could be passed around the audience and would help viewers to properly hear and understand the questions.

Again, great presentation and many thanks for posting.

Thanks y'all, I appreciate that.

The truth is I never intended to be doing these presentations, and when I DID do them I never intended to be making videos out of them. I just thought it would be good to get some audio so I used my iPhone headphones like a lapel microphone and off I went. I would love to get a decent lapel mic for good audio AND do as you suggested and film the events so as to get some footage of me actually presenting.

I think I will do another video on this particular topic IE why it is scientifically plausible that a non sapiens hominid once (and still could) (co)inhabit the australian mainland. Id like to do one in much better quality and add many more points that would help dissolve the rigid "the possibility of relict hominids is EVEN MORE impossible in Australia because X, Y, Z etc" arguments. Not just the old and increasingly defunct Wallace Line argument but also the issue of calorific attainment in Australia's harsh, infertile environment etc...

Very good. Interesting that homo sapiens appear to only have the denisovian and Neanderthal genes yet coexisting with several other species. Would it be, do you think, because the non breeding species were elusive species wanting no contact and perhaps preferring habitat that suits that purpose? Thankyou Byrn. It's great to see someone challenging the established 'doctrines' of academia and giving us food for thought.

Great line of enquiry!! I’m going to let that digest and see what I see...
