For all of you keen and avid field researchers.
As most of you would be aware, a state of fire emergency has been declared for both NSW and QLD within the last couple of days.
It would be prudent for anybody seeking to go bush during this time, to check where current fires are, and to be familiar with restrictions on activities that are suspended during the period of these declarations.

Re: The Bush fires
The GC Hinterland has obviously been hit. I saw Jimna - Sunhine Coast was in the firing line (no pun), last week and it was on the radio this morning that Kilkivan is going up.
The biggest threat is people throwing cigarette butts out of their cars.
It will be a bad summer this year. Water restrictions are being threatened for Qld. We didn't get our normal summer storms last year that fill the dams.
