Geez. I've only seen a short bit of the movie, not the whole thing (only up to just past 6min).

You'd think that based on the movement it's either bear or primate.

You then look at the profile across the arms/shoulders/head. Bear should be quite narrow shoulders, round head and pointed snout... Which I'd say comfortably rules out bear.

That's definitely interesting - I'm no zoologist/primatologist but looks very primatey. Interesting landscape though, any idea where this is specifically?

One thing for sure is the fear and panic in their shrieking.......that sounded genuine to me.
Regardless of what it is,it certainly has a strange movement and seemed quite thick set in build......not anything I recognise off the top of my head anyway

Without seeing the original footage it's hard to visualize what it may or may not be as this is certainly a Copy of a Copy of a Copy and the degradation and pixelization of it is quite extreme.

Though I will say I'm intrigued,

Yes, I am intrigued also Johnny.
As a Russian speaker I can say the women are genuinely terrified.
(Bashkortostan is a Muslim part of Russia but they all speak Russian.)
It is a pity the video is of such poor quality and there is no narrative that accompanies it.
We have Burtsev's comments and the video. That's about all.
IMO Burtsev is drawing a bit of a long bow proclaiming that the creature is a female (I suppose he has a 50% chance of being right!)

I think this is a fairly impressive sequence but also impressive acting. The woman's tone of voice is a pointer as well as the distinctly jolly russian youth movements of the 'man-beast'... flailing arms so studenty. Gives it away i think like the Patterson–Gimlin film with middle-aged yankee male movements if you look closely. Defo human that one. Most think they were hoaxed. This Russian footage looks like a well put together indie horror. Love the landscape!
