Good question Andrew.
I've often thought about that myself. It's very possible they preempt the fires and get out.
I'd love to hear some more theories though.

Hi Andrew. A lot of the Bunyip forest is still closed. I hear the road through is fine and there is no reason for it to still be closed.

Yes the forest is mostly closed they put gates up to stop 4wders using tracks they also said after fire that trees could fall I drove all tracks during and after fires cfa gave some weird looks but no body stopped me they only allow a few track to be used there either protecting tracks from ruts or protecting something that lives in the area there is some very thick forest here I own 20 acres of it and surrounded by it so far havent seen anything unusual but always hopeful but wont venture out to deep unless armed

Hi Ben Mook,
Good question, If you don't know I'm a great believer in the Paranormal Yowie and Bigfoot I'll give you my opinion of why we will never find a charred Yowie body in any of these ravaging bushfires in NSW and Queensland it's an answer many probably won't want to hear.
I believe that Yowies can enter/exit dimensions. IMO enabling them to avoid deadly bushfires seems plausible to me. I ask myself does it not seem strange that of all the bushfires in Australia over the years some covering thousands of hectares not once has anyone discovered a body or bones of a Yowie. Too much of a coincidence for me.
I know that when Mt St Helens erupted in 1980 in Washington State USA there were supposedly burnt Bigfoot bodies recovered but nothing official hence no evidence and I would imagine if this was true that over the decades some whistleblower would have spoken up.
I'm surprised there haven't been more suggestions.

Hey sensesonfire,
I've heard about that theory. Definitely very 'out there' haha, but could be plausible.
I guess we'll all find out sooner or later (hopefully sooner!)
Cheers.

There's a number of articles/videos revolving around the Dead BigFoot Bodies theory from the eruption of Mt St. Helens. Unfortunately they all seem to revolve around that one story of a helicopter taking out bodies. I'm personally still on the fence in this area (and dont subscribe to these as of yet), but for simply arguments sake, here's a list I've compiled for you. But to me they're too sensationalistic (is that a word?).
Before I post those articles.. there is a very interesting aspect to Mt ST. Helens and the Sasquatch (BigFoot) that dates back to 1924 in area that was called; "Ape Canyon" with reportedly a violent encounter in 1924 between a group of miners and a group of apemen. Miners, claimed they shot and possibly killed at least one of the creatures, precipitating in an attack on their cabin, during which the creatures bombarded the cabin with rocks and tried to break in.

An excellent short video by a former Sheriff speaks about the devastation of Mt St. Helens and the body recovery team. No BigFoots are mentioned but it's an excellent historical bit with pictures of the devastation.

I do have suspicion's that the following might be closer to having 'real' possibilities and it {suspposedly} comes from a Firefighter. If nothing else it's a good story...

Supposedly the BFRO (Bigfoot Field Research Organization) received this report. Again if not true, it's still a good story

Hi JohnnyAnonymous,
Yes, very interesting videos it always seems to be the case that the line between fact and fiction becomes very distorted with these type of sensational stories. I've read reports that could have an element of truth to them and others you would have to suspend all elements of disbelief.
On The Ape Canyon attack 1924 it was very intriguing on what Fred Beck concluded these creatures to be. He was there in an encounter that I would imagine no one else has ever experienced. The man's evidence can't be denied in my opinion.

Hmmm. Let me see if I understand this correctly. You regard stories of firefighters and others who (apparently) saw dead/injured Bigfoot after the Mt St Helens eruption/forest fires as "sensational", yet you have no trouble believing that Bigfoot can flit between dimensions and thus avoid any/all death or injury here on Earth??!?
Then, in the next sentence, you conclude that Fred Beck's evidence can't be denied (in other words; he is telling the truth). How strange that you choose to believe one story-teller but classify the others as "sensational"...

Yowies like humans I imagine would when faced with a bushfire, flee or seek refuge.
If they chose to flee reportedly they can traverse ground at great speed and would cover large distances quickly if required.
If they chose to seek refuge, I imagine that they know the terrain and the whereabouts of any cave systems, deep ravines and rock overhangs where they could seek safe refuge from a fire.
As far as bodies go, a huge area has been burned and no one as far as I know is going to search it all for a potential yowie carcass.
So the chances of finding a body would seem very unlikely.
All speculation on my part!
Cheers

Wow I didn't really appreciate just large an area had been burned aaq!
It's horrific and my thoughts go out to all the people affected by this huge fire.
It's wiped out a huge area of yowie habitat.
If they have managed to escape the flames it makes me wonder how for one and where they have gone(I speculated in an early post)
But I don't know if thats the answer.
Cheers aaq thanks for sharing that map.

Yeah exactly.

A few months back when the fires were around Port Macquarie/Newcastle it looked like the Blue Mountains would be spared but it's devastating to see that now. That's a massive area of invaluable bushland...
There has been a massive fauna toll and surely there are some hairies as part of that. I guess it's not the first time some of that area has gone up in flames as I doubt much is old/100-200yr growth. Could be wrong... I usually am.

Ive read reports from fire fighters that they often see large numbers of animals running away from fires and the majority that die are the slow ones or ones that get trapped. I'd assume since yowies are fast, intelligent and would see other animals fleeing that they would most likely be able to get away.

Not just NSW fires , check out link below re fires and burnt out land Australia wide over the past 3 years and I also noted some ommissions from this data .
https://myfirewatch.landgate.wa.gov.au/
Also I started a thread in Lounge re UNITED NATIONS AGENDA 21/30 which may have a relationship to all fires.....

Also a burnt body can be difficult to identify which animal it came from and most times noone will be too bothered to try to figure it out. There was a case in a previous bushfire they thought a person had died near a fridge in their house....it was a ham that had fallen out of the fridge....

I am worried if there was some hairy man down the far south coast of NSW that they could be lost for ever.
Having spent the last 40 yrs down that way and what i am hearing from my friends who have lost everything
nothing would have survived out in that.
It is just so sad.

I have donated cash for the wildlife rescuers. Terribly burnt koalas and roos. Have also helped with rescue livestock trucks. Just do what you can, every bit counts. Pray for rain! Dee

A healthy yowie can escape a large fire by locomotive means that cannot be discussed on the Bigfoot Discussion Board, but instead on the paranormal board.

Yes Dee every little bit helps. Sitting at home in Central Queensland it's hard to image the magnitude and just what people are going through.
Anyone on this site who is living near bushfire affected areas my thoughts are with you, keep safe.

What drives me crazy is how the Government slashed funding to rural fire brigades by 75% recently.
And stopped controlled burning which has kept big fires at bay for centuries.
And then I saw this below which sums it all up rather well...

Not that this is what your exactly requesting....
But many of us here in the United States (myself included) have been contributing to the Volunteer firefighters that have been heading over to help fight the fires.
My hope is that you get some more rain soon too... every little bit of H2O helps. Stay safe folks.

While working we noticed some kids acting suspiciously around bushes; we approached and they bolted. The same group of kids are well known trouble makers in the area.
Also, too all smokers out there, please, please do not throw your butts in the garden; not once, but twice I had to put out small brush fires in 40 degree heat near my place of work!. If it wasn't for some eagled eye people, it could have been a lot worse.
Wolf, you are right about the slashing in funding, WTF are they thinking.
