Farmers do this all the time.
It acts as a deterrent to other coyotes.

Not saying it isn't Bigfoot (possibly for the same reasons Farmers do this?)... the image is "allegedly" 10 feet up, and any Billy-Bob Clement could easily reach that high from the back of their jacked up truck, so... who knows?

From the photo it's unclear how the coyote is attached to the tree.
Obviously, if a nail was used then Bigfoot had nothing to do with it.
