I was listening to some AYR reports involving Yowie sightings near roads. A recurring comment was the notion that Yowies seem to purposefully expose themselves when they know a car is coming. Just wondering what the theories are are around why Yowies deliberately show themselves? Also are there any missing persons reports involving abandoned cars on the side of the road. Another query is if there is any evidence that Yowies may set traps like placing tree limbs across a road to try and get cars to stop so the occupants will get out?

The majority of road side sightings occur at night. There is no question this is when they become more bold.

A couple of reasons; They are aware we are blind as bats at night, as where they are not.
We are not as active at night, as where they are.
They get away with a lot even during the day because they are a human shaped, and we pass them off as humans at a distance - if we see them at all. God forbid at night....
We don’t normally look sideways when walking or driving.

The list goes on and on.

But this doesn’t explain the blatant desire and stupidity of what I can only believe is wanting to be seen. There’s no other explanation. Is it a thrill due to knowing their abilities over ours at night? If it were during the day, they would be getting out of there as fast as can be - so not to be seen.

But not at night. It’s almost a thrill/challenge. It’s a boldness we don’t hear much of during the day. A complacency? Thrill?

This is a topic I can talk a lot about, being in certain situations and reporting on them.

With the statement I began with - their personalities differ from day to night. I believe this is about an awareness about what they can get away with at night, compared to day.

Plus they are safe, because just a few meters and they are gone. We can’t see them.

One night at Kilcoy, we had a large group. Everyone was aware and looking keenly as they marched down a track. I was ahead and stood against a tree in full view. They walked straight passed.

I couldn’t have been that bold during the day if I didn’t want to be seen.

With this knowledge, I think they/some can sometimes push the boundaries of what they know they can get away with.
