I read about this story a while ago now but was recently shown a link to the actual audio witness account .
Interestingly there's police involvement which I don't remember reading about .

One of them was in contact with me a few years ago.

I must go back through the files. John was also involved in the making of an iconic Australian movie decades ago due to his knowledge and experience, and that of the area.

Thanks Rusty. I never got around to interviewing him.

At 9:29 being cannibalistic, eaten the bodies and stacked the bones. Reminds me of the name given to Bigfoot the Cannibal Giant (USA, Native American)
the Cannibal, who eats dead people (USA, Na-Dene). Friendly no bloody way they'll get ya given the chance.

Maybe he was hungry . From what I've heard , some Aboriginal people believe that they do eat humans .

To call this ''Yowie'' a creature is maybe a little unfair because although its physical features look like some type of beast/creature mentally it has all the hallmarks of a human.

This entity entered the hut and placed its hands around John's neck could have easily choked him or even take his head off but it didn't. It wasn't worried about the other 5 or 6 others knowing full well it could take them out no trouble at all. It was there to warn them I don't want you here just get out.

They obviously do not like humans (who could blame them).

I do recall reading reports from the USA that told of neatly stacked piles of bones picked clean and with tooth marks.
The bone piles were in front of a log, as if whoever made them sat on the log and ate the meat.
The tooth marks were so clear the investigator was able to calculate tooth size and jaw radius (both much larger than human).

A lifetime ago I used to work in the Vic high country. Never heard any stories about bush apes but by God that's rough country out there and anything could be hiding there. As Lovick said; it's fairly clear up on the high plains where they ran their cattle (now outlawed of course!) but the gullies and gorges are heavily treed.
