'Booming' sound in Koombaloomba forest and Yowie location announcement theory

Hi Guys,
I just returned from a camping trip at Koombaloomba, where there has been a recent Yowie encounter which I am trying to tee up for an interview.
We camped at the mouth of the tully river about here: https://goo.gl/maps/RyAJqhx1kgGzPYME6
We were definitely looking for signs of Yowie about, and may have found quite a substantial structure in the forest with several logs rammed into the ground around a large fallen log, but the thing that stuck out the most were a series of loud 'booming' sounds which came out of the forest. These sounds appeared to happen at random times, and seemed to move throughout the forest during the day.
It was very hard to work out how far away it was, but I live 1.5km from a quarry and it was definitely closer than that. Several of us heard it very clearly three times before lunch time on the third day, and all remarked that it had moved through the forest and sounded like a boom, like a big piece of sheet metal landing on concrete... A big deep 'whooooof' sound about 1second in duration. We definitely felt the feeling of being looked at all throughout that day, and particularly around sundown.
I was then thinking a few people who in their encounters have described the Yowie's growl as an almost industrial deep and resonant sound, and extremely loud and was wondering whether the Yowies could be using this noise to announce to each other where they are in the forest? It clearly travels a very long way and would allow them to communicate across wide valleys and more. Or was it one of them telling us we had been seen? The communication aspect seems likely as they have such a huge chest with which to make that sound, and they frequently use 'infrasound' in their attacks on people...
I was speaking to Craig from Camping and Bushcraft adventures and he told me he has heard a similar thing several times, and I wanted to see if anyone else had heard it or had any ideas on what it could be?
