Gary Opit

Unread post by Tuckeroo »

The other day I was going for a walk and passed a fellow taking a photo who looked like Gary Opit.
Could it be him ? a few hours south of where he lives. I had seen him on the internet and heard him
on the radio but I still wasn’t sure.
Against my better judgement for respecting someones privacy, I thought why not risk making a fool
of myself for the possibility of meeting this interesting fellow.

Well it was Gary and he invited me to sit with him and his wife at a picnic table overlooking the river.
He and his wife were so gracious with their time and information it made my day. It was great to hear
about his experience at the ranger station in the 1970’s – from the horses mouth so to speak.

So Gary and Carmel if you ever read this thanks very much.

It's reassuring to hear that he didn't tell you to " 'op it " instead . . . (sorry).

Hey Tuckeroo. That's an amazing coincidence. I bet they enjoyed chatting with you just as much as you did with them! (thumb)
