Aboriginal Folk Accounts compilation

Hello,

Does anyone know if there is a compilation of the various Aboriginal accounts of encounters/interaction with Yowies?

People freely reference how Aboriginals had stories about them, fought them, traded with them, etc but it is really hard to actually find these various stories/accounts themselves.

Would be a great subsection on the main website too.

I had a book decades ago about how people in historical Turkey would trade and intermarry with a smaller bigfoot type creature called "Almas" that would come out of the mountains, so if something like that happened there, it could have happened here too. Would possibly explain the ?% of unknown hominid DNA that Aboriginals have too

Bigfoot were well known for capturing Native American females and it was strongly suggested they actually bred with them. So it would be no surprise to me if aboriginal females suffered the same fate interspecific hybrid breeding with Yowies or the junjudee. Although I did not know that aboriginals had a % of unknown hominid DNA.

The assumed Bigfoot DNA samples reveal that there is a mitochondrial connection but the Y DNA chromosome is of an unknown hominid and they rule out the great apes. The analysis bizarrely suggests an unknown hominid mixed with animal DNA - a chimaera.

At 16:43 explains how they collected the samples 27:26 tells of the DNA analysis results 31:45 tells of the complexity of what was discovered. All tests were undertaken by reputable geneticists. It is well worth a look.

There is an opportunity here for some determined author. How you would go about collecting the information I think may be a challenge. I used to research my city's history and publishing it on a blog. I basically collected trove newspaper articles. I also researched heavily all search terms I could think of for hairy ma related search terms in our historical record. I actually found quite a few indigenous information but was always reported by , sometimes often, derogatory overtones even resulting in the firing of pistols, sometimes just with blatant white Australian policy arrogance and derision. I have a feeling the avenue of attack would be interviewing, perhaps electronically, area tribal elders. How this can be done to any large degree could be a daunting task. Anyway. If anybody actually accomplished this book I would be the first to hand over my credit card details for pre-order purchase.

Agree. I think this one has been mentioned a few times times across a few websites, here included.

Now just to hire a hi res 3D mapping set up and map out the bottom/sides of the dam, and then spend months and months doing it high-risk, zero visibility cave diving trawling through the silt, only to either discover it's long gone, has been broken down (though maybe underwater in silt is a great preservation?) or that you find something and the information is swallowed up and buried.

Still, sounds like a fun adventure to me... I'll operate the 3D mapping gear and drink beer in the boat. I'll leave it up to others to do the cave diving and silt dredging.

Thank you for that link, that is an Excellent (with a capitol E), little book of small little stories of indigenous culture, which caters a broad range of subjects that I found most fascinating, many of which are talked about here on this forum.

Plenty of insight and gem's of knowledge within it.

I wondered if "brownjacks" were something related to the Ebu Gogo (homo floriensis), but some reports of brownjacks make them out to be like 5ft tall/5ft wide cubes of muscle, not slight like Ebu Gogo are described, though Ebu Gogo were fascinated with kids too
