I watched the premier of this show last night on Discovery HD. I have to say its a fantastic show. In fact, I was so inspired I found myself researching Dean Harrisons work and thus, find myself here. I have to say I just about fell out of bed laughing when Dean handed Dr. Barton some "micro-organisms" from the rock in the middle of the road. CLASSIC! Of course, if you ask me, she deserved it for her "commentary" around the breakfast table regarding the ape-men.
I have always been fascinated by the lore of these creatures and the possibilites of them being real and even existing to this day. The thing that really keeps me interested is the fact that you find the same types of creatures in stories spanning huge distances. For example, the Yowi and Bigfoot. I know the early American indians have stories passed down for generations regarding large hairy creatures that resembled man. Do the stories of the Yowi go that far back? Back before our two lands were able to communicate? If so, that alone would warrant open-mindeness towards the subject. At least that is MY humble opinion. Of course, I would really like to see someone with an auto-focus feature on thier camera take some pictures.
Anyway, just wanted to post my "review" of the show and say "Hi" to everyone here on the board. I'll be checking back often.
P.S. Dean, if your listening, hope those feet are doing better. I was feeling your pain last night brother.

Hi Triage, welcome.
It's exactly the same here. Stories of huge hairy upright beasts are part of aboriginal folklore, and have been since anyone can care to remember. There are even ancient aboriginal paintings depicting them in wars with the aboriginal people.
When white settlers first came to the country, there were encounters with the Yowie on many occasions. Many of these were recorded and are among the first ever recorded reports of Yowie sightings.

Hi Triage,
I have been on holidays for the past 3 weeks, and this is the first time I have logged in - sadly to find our website hacked YET again. Bare with us, as I'm sure Cass has things well under control.
Regarding the latest Doco, thanks for the kind words, the mail is starting to come through as the film makes it's way around the World.
I have only seen bits and pieces of the film, including my own home footage which is very cool.
I understand there is an 80 minute version and a 100 minute International export that is far greater than the 80 minute piece.
Not entirely sure about the time where I handed Hazel the rock for my own entertainment, as it was a long, long haul..... and as with all Doco's of this length, a lot is often cut out during editing and memories always fade.
One thing is for sure. I know that much of the debates that myself and the "Scientist" (Hazel), were involved in (some heated), were cut out to make things more "equal". Reason being that she had NO reasonable come back towards reasonable sense - typical silly 'nothingness' from people who are out of thier depth - therefore her grasping to grass. Would have loved to have seen it all added in, but that's just how it goes....
The film is great and has beaten all ratings in the History of Animal Planet and is about to win a lot of awards.
Rick West, in my opinion, was the Star. Look up his Website...
Just never sleep with him - I still shudder.....
Not sure when the Prem comes here, but its one to watch out for.
All the best to everybody and have a great New Year.
PS - Swam with my Cell Phone a week ago and lost EVERY contact on my Sim card. Please text me and let me know your numbers if you were on my list.
