This "extinct" line narrative is really getting tiresome.

Neither in Tasmania nor the Mainland is this animal extinct.

It's getting obvious governments have a vested interest in keeping it extinct, though.

Certainly agree with those opinions. I recall once talking with a group of forestry people in Tassie who had no doubt the Tiger was still roaming the wild as a number of workers had encounters with them.

Reflecting on this new colour video, I felt really sorry for this once magnificent animal who was suffering dreadful conditions inside his small and barren pen. It seems no one cared back in the 30's. At least today, the animal's lush natural environment would be re-created on a large scale, ensuring a comfortable existence while in captivity. Then again, the greenies would probably campaign to have it released back into the bush where it belongs. And who can argue with the reasoning?
