Has there ever been much hard evidence of yowies being involved in cases of 'missing persons' in the Bush or of people being yowie tucker?

I suspect that many such stories were yarns or rumours chucked in to help boost sales of shonky old and new media, and/or drongos seeking fame and dosh.

Such yarns can also be handy for elders trying to persuade kids to stay in at night.

(I've been well interested in hard evidence regarding yowies since a weird experience I had in Northern NSW Bush in 1970)

The journo obviously did not do due diligence with the story.
