The Dene people are from The Land of the People”, located in Northwest Territories, Canada.
Interestingly they have another name for Sasquatch ''The cannibal who eats dead people'' maybe this is the interpretation of Nakina.

Noticeably there are numerous names for Bigfoot/Sasquatch referencing cannibal this is no coincidence.
The mystery is there are so many names for Bigfoot/Sasquatch very few people have encountered this creature? Although I do believe that sightings are exponentially increasing.

I was watching a series called I Was Prey this episode involved a young forestry worker living in a small log cabin in the remote wilderness of Canada because of difficulty traversing to and from his work environment he had decided to stay there to be closer to his job which had to be accessed by helicopter.

Why did he not encounter any contact with Bigfoot? remote, heavily timbered areas would have been an ideal habitat for them. I have come across this scenario before where people have been isolated in heavy bushlands but have no contact with Bigfoot/Yowies.

I then realised why this is so the answer belongs on the AYR - Yowie Controversial, Conjecture and Fringe Subject Matter Discussion.

The Map needs work especially for Australia, the names and boundaries just seem all wrong, Just my opinion.

Something like this would be better and then add the Aboriginal names for the Yowie for each tribe.
