Hi all, a few years ago I shared my encounter on this forum with an experience I had with what I believe could of been a yowie in the blue mountains. So afterwards I kind of just moved on with my life and forgot about it, but I had a chat on the phone the other day with a mate of mine who moved up to the mid north coast and he told me how he spoke with a local young aboriginal man and asked him if yowies existed and all he said was "I don't want to/can't talk about it, but yes they are real and they're out there in the bush." That just re sparked my interest in the topic and I'm now here posting to see if anyone here goes looking for yowies around the blue mountains or Central Coast areas that I could maybe come along? If anyone here is interested in having and extra person tag along, feel free to message me and we can go from there. Anyway, thanks guys!

If you don't mind not having company l believe you'll have a better chance of an interaction/sighting if you go out by yourself, l would suggest leaving electronic devices behind. eg. camera, mobile phones etc.
For starters a quality pair of binoculars say 10 X 42's would certainly be worth having in your backpack along with your PLB.
Pick a remote area where there is a forest of mainly 'pine trees' with good 'fresh water' availability close by. eg.lake/river.
Remember if they want you to see them they will arrange for that to happen so don't start the dopey wood knocks and the cringe worthy yowie calls ok ; they'll know your there and also know of your true intentions so just be patient and enjoy the solitude.
Its all about being respectiful of our hairy bush friends home as just like us they are all individuals so I wouldn't go out 'after midnight' alone especially during the full moon phase in an area that l have already previously suggested just to be safe. Leave the self defense firearm at home as it wouldn't really do you much good anyway and its just another heavy thing you have to carry along.
I would suggest if your alone stick to daylight treks only and enjoy all the great soul cleansing attributes our Australian bush has to offer, its a breath of fresh air afterall!.
Just sayn' 😊

Hi guys, I just wanted to know if there is any information about the lack of bodies and skeleton remains. I am curious as there are many cases of cannibalism in primates. Jane Goodall described many cases in chimpanzees at Gombe Stream National Park. Also reports in Bonobos, Vervet Monkeys, Baboons, Macaques, etc. what are the theories?. Thank you!. JR
