Deadpool's Song of the Week.

Unread post by deadpool »

Bad Religion - The State of the End of the Millennium Address.

Its basically spoken word with a punk/rock backing. I love the song.
third verse wrote:The Internet has expanded our ability to pacify average Americans better than ever by offering fantastical adventures to every corner of the imagination. Your home office is the window to your world, and the heart of your social life. Such reclusive behavior helps clear the roads and public works from overburden like the lower middle class and others who depend shamelessly on their government. Today you are freer than ever to do what you want, provided you can pay for it!
Download it. Download it now!

Its kind of a take off on the state of the government over in the states. I love it.

Another good spoken word song? William Shatner - Common People (cover of the same song by Pulp). I love that song. The Shat is the best person on earth.

It is a classic.

"I... want to live... like... common people..."

Yeah thanks Alex, now I have to go dig it out... I think it's on one of my JJJ Hottest 100's. Somewhere.

Hahaha, good work man. What other genres of music are you into?

@forestguy - its a brilliant song!

I have a wide taste in music. Anything from acoustic to electronica. Some other bands? Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, Hellogoodbye, Rise Against, The Beatles, Mindless Self Indulgence, Goldfinger, Lagwagon & Chevelle.

Yeah like I say Alex I listen to all sorts and I am not limited to a genre having said that there are probably two kinds of music that I don’t listen to. Some forms of rap/hip hop and some forms of real heavy metal I just can’t stand.

Some of the effort that goes into a heavy metal album for example I could make with my eyes closed, I would just have to strum a few power chords on my guitar (no real method in that) and ROOOOOAAAAAARRRRR like I’m impersonating a wild bear and I would have myself an album, it cant be that hard.

Otherwise I am pretty easy going when it comes to taste/genre.

How lucky are you Cass and Seeker.
Cass I love Motley Crue. Home Sweet Home is my favourite song of theirs and my favourite song of all time.

You know I'm a dreamer
But my heart's of gold
I had to run away high
So I wouldn't come home low
Just when things went right
It doesn't mean they were always wrong
Just take this song and you'll never feel
Left all alone

Take me to your heart
Feel me in your bones
Just one more night
And I'm comin' off this
Long & winding road

I'm on my way
Well I'm on my way
Home sweet home
Tonight tonight
I'm on my way
I'm on my way
Home sweet home
You know that I've seen
To many romantic dreams
Up in lights, fallin' off
The silver screen

My heart's like an open book
For the whole world to read
Sometimes nothing-keeps me together
At the seams

I'm on my way
Well I'm on my way
Home sweet home
Tonight tonight
I'm on my way
Just set me free
Home sweet home
Remember to keep yourself alive.
There is nothing in life more important than that.

LoL sticky

I’m feeling ya,……. I’m feeling ya……. is that also a griffin you have there flapping its wings about?

If it is it must have a special meaning for you!

The beat is reminiscent of the clip I just posted up, very similar

Those dance moves in the clip are they based on your own?

Also what is the significance of the velociraptor?

Cheers

...lol... the programme that I was using at the time... (I have since lost on my old computer and can't remember what it was called)... allowed you to import things into it and I added the velociraptor and flying dragon...(they didn't have a Griffon)... into it for no other reason than I was totally drunk when I did it at the time!!!... and I then posted it on some other forums on a website for reasons unknown to me due to my drunken stupor!... needless to say... the next day on the forums ... I was teased a hell of a lot!!!...lololol!!!... cheers... Stickyfingers. :D :)

Well, since everyone's doing it, I've been re-enjoying The Cruel Sea (all albums) a lot lately, and I'm a huge fan of the Gorillaz.

Listening to Tex Perkins' voice has shall we say, 'positive' effects on me, and with that grinding guitar (especially on "Delivery Man"), I have no hope of escaping some very, very seriously great sounds.

I listen to pretty much most things, but can't get my head around Thrash Metal. I'll admit to loving Chet Atkins, Allan Jackson and other country artists, as well as some Classical in that mix as well. I also treasure the OLD stuff from the 1920's and such - there are some amazing sounds in that generation. I rock out, mellow out, zone out to music of all kinds, and though I can't sing in tune most of the time, what I lack in skill, I make up for in enthusiasm.

And now, one of the songs that amuses me. Listen carefully to the words...
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=r41U_T7pQjQ

And a mellower tune from the Texster:

...Shazzoir... some really nice music there my sweet... I love Gorillaz... especially "Clint Eastwood" ... some mellow songs in those clips... but it won't beat this song below for being "mellow" ... it's also one of my most favourite video clips visually...

... so what do you think... mellow or what???... cheers... Stickyfingers. (rad) (happy) (cool) (jest)
