Partners or spouses who don't believe in Yowies
Well, how many of you out there in AYR-land have a partner or spouse who thinks you are a bit 'soft in the head' for believing in Yowies, or even belonging to AYR, in fact?
My bloke yanks my chain a lot over my interest in the unexplained, but really gives me a hard time (albeit mostly with SOME humour involved) if I start musing aloud about them.
I just wondered how many folks here deal with the same aspect in their partners? And how you stay sane? LOL
Shazz
PS. For interest's sake, has anyone seen this mob before?

Re: Partners or spouses who don't believe in Yowies
Hi Shazz,
re Spouses: Obviously I don't have that problem being skeptic;
re Search and Discovery Unit: If you look at the bottom of their web page approx. 2100 visitors since June 30, 2005. Not what I'd call high interest.
Maybe they're just some guys having a go at something and good on them for that but their webpage is pretty lame (as a web page) and the amount of detail is breath taking (in the same way as a vacuum). Although I could not view the last part of the page because I'm not prepared to install a plug-in from a site such as this.
Good luck to them...

Re: Partners or spouses who don't believe in Yowies
Hi Shazz,
You're not the only one in that boat! It's a cross many a yowie researcher has had to endure in the past and many will endure in the future. Look on the bright side though - Your partner will never be concerned about your safety being at risk from a yowie as your safety can't be compromised by something that doesn't exist now, can it?
Your fellow researchers you haven't researched enough, hillbillies you may come across in the field, precarious environments, snakes, spiders, wild pigs, lightning, falling trees, falling tree limbs, bush fires, flood waters, cows, bulls, wild dogs, black panthers, car troubles, and sunburn, are a different story!

...my sweet darling wife doesn't mind me dabbling in my beliefs... the way she sees it is that while I'm on this website... I'm not pestering her... a win win situation... she says that until she sees it... she won't believe it!...
...has anybody else noticed that when you tell people that you visit a website that is to do with Yowies... people look at you strangely... but when you mention that it has a section that is dedicated to the Thylacine and the Blue Mountains big cats / Panthers that they suddenly become interested???... then you mention a UFO section and they become even more interested???... it seems to me that it is only the mention of Yowies possibly existing that brings out the... "yeah...as if!"... type comments!... is this a case of Yowies not getting enough good PR????... cheers... Stickyfingers.

To me, that would be the ultimate in a partnership, but then, I'm pretty lucky with my bloke on most other fronts, guess I should count my blessings.

I seem to have the opposite problem.
My partner has seen a Yowie on two occasions but I've never had the pleasure.

I don't believe you have ever told us about your partners experiences
I for one would love to hear about them
Has your partner filed a report?

Hey Chewy.
I made a brief report on it in the psychic, paranormal yowie thread.
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1211
I've actually got a video recording of her interview from when Tony Healy was in Darwin. Would like to post it when the site starts to support video files.
Lasso, you're a sick, sick girl.
Be careful or you'll get turkey slapped by a Yowie.

Most of MY partners LOVE coming out with me. The hardest part is coming up with new excuses to Lasso regarding where I am and who I'm with.

Re: Partners or spouses who don't believe in Yowies
Hi all
Just back home briefly, my partner isnt a 100% believer...BUT she buys me all the toys i need for a succesfull yowie hunt, my trailcams, nightvision, radios, gps etc....i guess she figures it keeps me out of the pub.
On another subject..just returned from Arhnem Land, met lots of interesting Yolgnu people, 2 gents i spoke with told me of a place in Culladin bay near the top of the Gulf of Carpentaria ( spelling may be wrong), about 50 years ago the area was known by locals to have a population of " small hairy cave men", which were shot, their bones are apparently in some caves near the beach......interesting i thought
cheers

Re: Partners or spouses who don't believe in Yowies
Dont worry about partners who are sceptics with yowie research. I have the same thing with my ghost investigating. The only time it worries me is when we get something really good or we had a very good experience and im all excited about it and i have to forcefully drag him to my computer to watch something and I see the bordom in his face and he says "can i go now?
