Re: Cloncurry
Plenty of wildlife at the local pubs but that's about all the help I can give you Tops.
Maybe do your usual thing and pump the locals for some info?
Good luck man.

Re: Cloncurry
When I working at Gregory Downs 4 years ago putting a relocatable home for the mission there , the 6 of us decided to go for a canoe trip down the Gregory. We went out on the Savanah in the work truck with 3 canoes hired from the shop and found a track in the middle of nowhere that took us down to the river. We drove to far down towards the river and got stuck , the only way back was canoe . At on spot we came across an open area of the river at the end you could see that the water broke 2 ways with an island in the middle. As we approached you could see like black boulders though the trees I said to my mate with me look at this pointing at them. We were about 20 metres from the island then all of a sudden we saw that they wernt boulders because they stood up,they were about 5to6 feet and dissappeared back so we couldn"t"see them.As we went down the right side of the island you could smell a real urine smell.
The next day we invited the elder from the mission down to the river near the pub and I asked him if there were hairy men about and he said yes but if you see one get out of there because there not friendly
