I know it's the Sun, not the most reputable of tabloids, but for what it's worth, they had an article based on an interview with Sir David Attenborough about whether the Yeti is real or not...

And a comment following the brief article that ties in with another thread on the Yowie Discussion Board...
"... they'll never be able to catch one - they can teleport to a parallel dimension ..."
Oh, and if you want to read the comments from the newsgathering website that featured this article, click here, but be warned, there are some cusswords, and some mightily closed minds... but there are also some very good questions posed, which Yowie folks will find familiar... http://forums.fark.com/cgi/fark/comment ... nk=4239911

Re: Sir David Attenborough: "Yetis Exist"
Interesting video snippet. This is how I viewed it...
The Sun's headline was "Sir David: Yetis real". Implying that Sir David has endorsed the existence of yetis.
Sir David himself only said that he was baffled regarding footprints at 19,000ft. He did not at any stage say anything that could be construed as him being convinced that yetis are real.
This is precisely why tabloids have no credibility. This was a misquote of unethical proportions.
My interpretation of Sir David's remarks were consistent with my own beliefs about yetis, sasquatch, yowies, etc., which is, they might exist but haven't yet been proven to exist.

There's always someone cleverer than yourself. Always!

If the quotes are true..he appears at the very least.. to have an interest in the reports.

Re: Sir David Attenborough: "Yetis Exist"
I interpreted Attenborough's comment thusly: He is baffled about the existence (or not) of the Yeti, as he has no real 'evidence' to go on, but believes the footprints discovered by Hillary(?) to be actual footprints of something, and not just a hoax. Nothing more, in fact, it would have been wonderful to have seen a bit more of the footage if further reference was given to the Yeti topic.
Interestingly, he didn't go into any other reports of alleged sightings of Yetis, only mentioning the Hillary one, but then, he may not have had the chance - TV is a fickly medium.
