Unread post by Lasso »

I am in the middle of getting this website fixed, it seems a little harder than expected with a few glitches in the system.
Please be patient.

I am getting a back up done for last Saturday so any post this week will not display, so save anything you may need.

I am hoping that things will all be back to normal within the next couple of weeks. I am pulling in the big guns to get this site running properly.

Sorry for an inconvenience.

Hi Lasso

Thanks for all your work. I am the Webmaster for a few Web Sites and I know sometimes the work load can be quite excessive.

I also know at times they seem to have a mind of their own. That is when it gets frustrating.

Please also pass on my thanks to Dean for hosting the site. It is greatly appreciated.

Regards

Hi Lasso

I use Dreamweaver for all of my Web Page development. It works a treat.

I usually use Photoshop Elements for all of my graphics.

...Lasso... if you wish... do you want me to try and put my image of the Yowie in Photoshop into a non background???... that way... there will be no "white glow" around the Yowie... that way... you won't need to try and blend the image into the background then my sweet... just say so and I will try... if you have the talent to do it yourself... no probs sweetness... by the way... it's looking pretty good Lasso... cheers... ...hey Bush Baby my friend... you're best to hold out until the revamp of the website methinks... I believe that what we are posting now will be lost... the things that I am now posting... I'm doing copies of them into Microsoft office to repost later when the revamp is done... that way I will not lose the work... then again... you could go ahead and post it to see if the link works or not... and repost it later... you have nothing to lose and you will know if the link works or not eh??? cheers... Yes sticky, that would be good if you could put the yowie in a transparent background for me.

Thanks big cats....I know who to call on if I am not sure how to do something. I am looking at doing a short course on the program in June to bush up in some areas. We need to give this site an update and fresh new look.

Big cats do you know how to do flash files??? Something I have always wanted to learn, just need pointing in the right direction.

I have add a few picture to the last version of the website design.....

If any one has any ideas on what they think the site needs. I would like to keep the front page as simple as possible.

Cryptozoology will lead into all the areas that are presently on the front page.

Baby bush...the site back date will happen Monday, Tuesday I am hoping. Any post that were done after the 14th will disappear. This should be the last time this has to happen. Then it will take a week I am hoping to get the forum displaying right.

Hi Lasso,

I have a question, hope it's not out of place, but why is there a UFO up there on the new AYR homepage? I know there is some conjecture about the link between Yowies and UFOs, but as AYR is devoted to Cryptozoology, might it be better if the UFO was deleted? I don't know if having it there might add an air of "oh, just more crackpots who believe in Aliens!" Just a thought, as AYR should be taken as a serious site for investigating all things Yowie, Thylacine, ABC etc. rather than UFOs which aren't technically a "Hidden animal"...If you feel differently, no worries, just my perspective on things.

Also, in the heading on the tab on the left that says WHAT IS A YOWIE, can you add a question mark to that, as it is a question? That would be perfect.

Kind regards,
Shazz

...hey Shazzoir... I think that Lasso is trying to cover all the categories that are dealt with on the forums... not just the Yowie... good point there Shazz... hmmmm... when you think of it ... there are probably two or three different ways of going about this for the Homepage... either ...

(A) there is just the Yowie only to represent the "Yowie" website...

(B) there is the added Thylacine/UFO/Panther to show all the categories within the website... (perhaps some Orbs and Ghost images need to be included in that case maybe???)...

(C) maybe the Thylacine/UFO/Panther etc have those images next to the respective category box names perhaps...

...there may be other schools of thought but I believe that Lasso should just go for it and arrange it to her preference... what she is doing looks great up until now (thumb up) ... go you good thing!!!!! (rad) ...

...Lasso... just one little tip from my past dealings with Photoshop... whenever I put something onto another background image... (especially when the background is dark)... the very last thing that I do is go around the Images using the "Blur Tool" on 20% Opacity and skim along the outer edge of where the images meet the background... that way they blend in together perfectly... may I suggest that for the back part of the Panther and around the head and ears area... you will see what I mean sweetness (rad) ...

...by the way Lasso... I've sent you a clean copy of the Yowie with no background... I've already used the "Blur Tool" on the Yowie so you should be able to just put it straight onto the image without having to do anything to it (thumb) ... cheers... Stickyfingers. (cool) (happy) (jest)

yeah im sorry but im going to have to side with shaz here.
not that i dont believe anything like that should be left out of the website, just the home page.
looks a bit like, hey we believe in everything thats thrown at us! personally im not a ufo man or even a ghost fan, but unknown animals, bring it on.
but im still happy with people believing what they need to.
ON THE OCCASION WHEN IM NOT WRONG, IM ALWAYS RIGHT!

Nice work Lasso (claps hands) ... my opinion of the main page? I think that anything is cool! (rad)
If you are going to put the UFO's and big cats on there, maybe a little less prominent around the yowie. Spread them out maybe? I dunno, I'm happy with whatever I 'spose. (happy)

What about putting small pics of orbs and ghosts and UFO's and stuff up top and spread out and when you click on them, they take you to that section?? :D .....is that even possible? (confused) .... anyways, that is all of my ideas and suggestions that I can offer at this moment in time. (cheers) (yin yang) ..Trev
