As i have said on previous threads, my granmother poisoned a Tassie Tiger back in 1966, i lived with her for several years when i was a kid, she lived in the Tarra Valley near Madalya east Gipps, it was only many years later as an adult i realised what that dead stripped dog was that was laying on the ground after eating a baited dead sheep...i have no doubts at all

Hey Topender,

Very interesting recallection Mate... (thumb)

Beautiful Place the Tarra Valley.... Is your have family still in the area?

I come from that neck of the woods myself. It doesn't surprise me at all. I've heard a lot of stories from locals about Tassie Tiger, Big Black Cats and strange things that go bump in the night. I have seen some strange things in my time living in the area. I remember a couple of times traveling along the grand ridge road in the wee hours of the night and the hair on the back of my neck would stand on end...

Cheers

hey Strange2

Yall come from the hill country too......juz like my dear ol Maw and Paw. SERIOUSLY though, i concur with you, all through that country i felt like i was being watched, we lived on the madalya/hiawatha rd, very dense forest. had a very scary incident happen one night, as we had no power there, kerosene lights, kero fridge etc and myself and my brother were sitting on the floor at night, G/Mother was knitting next to a window...next thing she yells and almost S#*TS herself, we look up to see a pair of shiny eyes peering through the window ( didnt know if was animal of some sort) but as you would well know, you didnt get people strolling around out there, especially in 1967. strange thing about it was that we had a crazy mad nasty dog "butch" who was no where to be found that night, as granny grabbed the 410 shotgun and called the dog, dog reappeared the next morning.......yeah i was in a constant state of fear when living there, MAYBE i was just a bit of a Mental Kid
