No probs Iwanna

What did you think? the DNA results where pretty much as I suspected!

I am pretty amazed by these guys going inside after a few rocks had been thrown, I thought they would have had more guts? Anyhow I bet they wished they stayed out for longer after the event. (thumb up)

Cheers mate

I've seen both of this episode and sasquatch attack 2 also. Have to admit was disappointed with their wussiness also. Didin't like the nail trap they used either. :-x . I've both seasons of this show and am starting on season 3. I find some interesting and a lot frustrating. I JUST WISH THEY WOULD FIND SOMETHING!!

Don't we all wish the same thing?

I thought the nail trap was interesting because of the pattern left behind by whatever stepped on it. It would have been nice if they stayed outside to see what was throwing rocks. After all, that's the sort of event they should have been hoping for.

Sigh...

I found the video interesting as this Big foot was always colse by, but no one had the guts to realy look for it. The nail trap is a old and test way of stoping soming on entering a house, just wish it had more fresh DNA on it.

Hi Chewy, I have watched, and enjoyed, many of the Moster Quest episodes.

There is a little bit of frustation feeling in that they can't seem to find any conclusive evidence, however they always seem to be able to produce a show that is entertaining, regardless of how flimsy the evidence may be. :)

Monster Quest isn't the first cryptozoological show however.

The first time I ever heard of "Bigfoot" was in the late 1970s or early 1980s, when Leonard Nimoy's "In search of" was aired on on Aussie TV just after I got home from primary school! (I originally saw it on a black in white tv... you can actually watch it in colour on YouTube).

There have been many other shows with a cryptozoological, or simply "unexplained mystery" focus over the years. In the early 1980s was sci fi author, Arthur C Clarke's "Mysterious World" (again viewable on Youtube).

This was lampooned in an episode of "The Goodies", where Arthur C Clarke actually turned out to be none other than Graeme Garden, and the Goodies travelled to the US in search of Bigfoot... At their destination, one of the Goodies, (I think it was Tim) got bitten on the toe by a mosquito, causing his right foot to swell to gi-normous proportions, causing him to leave gigantic footprints around the cabin when he went outside to go to the loo at night.

In the mid to late 1990s there was "Animal X" which seems to have been posted on Youtube by the copyright holders, (Storyteller Media) so I hope I have no copyright troubles posting the links here. Part 2 includes an interview with Senator Bill O'Chee (refer report posted on this site).

Part 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjBw7RDHfVY

Part 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d81Jf75KPxs

Another more recent show is called "Destination Truth", it is hosted by Josh Gates, and among other things, it investigates some of the lesser known cryptozoological creatures (many of which I have never even heard of!). I had the pleasure last night of watching an entertaining episode about the Mamlambo and the Tokeloshe in South Africa.

There seems to be a sense of fun, humour and camaradarie with the presenter and his team, which to me, makes Destination Truth all the more entertaining.

Anyway, if you enjoy shows like Monster Quest, I hope I have been able to provide you with a few more to look at that will give you both education and entertainment value. :)

Ahh one Goodies episode I have not seen, I have the ‘best of the Goodies’ on DVD, classic absolute classic show! One of the best! They make me laugh every time

Thanks for the links FHG but I think those have been posted before if I’m not mistaken.

Anyways Cheers matey (thumb up)

Thanks Chewy! Great documentary. Being that the crew were scientists? and unfamiliar with bigfoot behaviour, they can be forgiven for their wussiness. The beauty is they had rocks thrown at the cabin and they appear to have been able to recover one of the rocks. Great ape behaviour? The DNA which was recovered was very promising.

Yeah I have to agree there Joe, I have always favoured the idea that Sasquatch has DNA closer to humans than great ape and that’s what the results showed. If it was of course DNA from a Sasquatch, and without anything to compare it to, we can only really speculate the idea.

I know that there are a few people here on this board that also favour the idea that we are dealing with something more human than animal.

I still get a little frustrated with some American sites that think we are dealing with purely animal, and it must be shot or killed for scientific purposes. For something to evade mans detection for so long its definitely more intelligent than any animal.

Well done Chewey! I normally think of myself as one of the jokesters here, and it is fun to see a "reg" (regular poster) being able to make me laugh! :D

I think the Goodies were well on top of Cryptozoological encounters... (I seem to recall them, in one episode, capturing the Loch Ness Monster, and carting it back to England on their trandem bicycle!...)

This wasn't necessarily as funny as the "Kitten Kong" episode, the "Rolf Harris" eipsode, the "Ecky Thump!" episode, nor even the "Close Encounters" or "South Africa" episodes... but I found myself laughing nonetheles. :)

However, the funniest thing I have had the good fortune to watch on Youtube over the last week, wasn't actually the Goodies, but an episode of a supposedly serious cryptozoological show called "Destination Truth"... in this episode, they went to Argentina, in search of a werewolf type creature called the "Lobizon".

They eventually tracked down a man who claimed he could turn himself into the werewolf/lobizon... and he was happy to have them film it...

What followed is some of the most hilarious viewing I have ever had the good fortune to enjoy!

Forward to about 8:25 on the first story, sit back and enjoy!

Argentine Werewolf Pt 1

To get the full appreciation, you also have to watch the first bit covering the second part...

Argentine Werewolf Pt 2

This man deserves an Oscar!!! :D

Thanks Foil hat guy

The guy trying to change into a werewolf….. yes…well…. What can I say? I don’t know wether to laugh or feel sorry for the bloke. Some people believe they can do some crazy things. (confused) (no brains)

What you did do, is get me hooked at watching the rest of the series (thumb up)

Here are parts three, four, and five for those that also had an interest.

Part three http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLYs5vBn ... xt_from=PL

Part four http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Y88NMGA ... xt_from=PL

Part five http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o57vvsA ... xt_from=PL

Thanks sticky…I’m not sure why I changed it….. (sweat drop)

The problem was once I did I felt as though I had lost a piece of myself, (cries)

I felt alone and in the dark and then I saw the light, it was a beautiful light and yet seemed somewhat familiar to me.

I then recognised it as AYR light (the most special light of all), then I heard a softly spoken voice calling my name, a name that I had recognised as being a part of me for so many years

*cheeewwy, cheeewwy come back to AYR*, It was like the voice of an angel. (angel)

Then it dawned on me, that I had made a wrong turn somewhere along the lines (probably when I changed my user name) (kill) I found myself running towards the light, “I’m coming sweet warm light, I’m coming” tears of excitement started running down my face, the anticipation of being chewy again was most pleasing.

Then after a few clicks on the keyboard I was back. (thumb up)

Nothing much to tell really

I was looking around Youtube last night and noticed that the Destination Truth show actually did an episode on the Yowie. This is one of their better episodes in my opinion, as they actually believe they find some minor evidence (as opposed to all those shows with trail cameras that produce no results).

The second part of the show takes them to a haunted mosque in Malaysia, and is also well worth watching - again they get some interesting results.

Complete show here:
