Well that's what the article (and the upcoming book) are about - evolution in response to predation producing a more aggressive Cro Magnon, eventually coming out the victorious biped - "evolution by genocide"

Again, as the article says - “Not only have we had the wrong impression of the nature and behaviour of Neanderthals”, argues Vendramini, “but we have been fed sentimental, anthropomorphic visuals of them as well. Neanderthals”, he says, “were primates and would have looked like primates. There is no reason to suppose they were clean-shaven with protruding noses and curly hair. These guys”, he expounds, “came from the frozen north—they had flat, ape-like noses, large nocturnal eyes, were covered in thick hair and were six times stronger than the average human. They were not a pretty sight.”

I have always wondered how archeologists can conclude that one subspecies raped another. Was there something left in that pile of bones that was a dead giveaway? You know that I just had to ask this question. Was there like maybe some blood stained ligatures, or worse yet, handcuffs.

Maybe they should have just played it safe and theorised that Neanderthal's didn't die, they just went interdimensional...

Well, I must say that I find that it is drawing a long bow to state that "rape" occured.
Its a bit like saying that they sang home on the range around the camp fire.
It is an untestable hypothesis, and not one you will find many archaeologists/ making.

It may take some seaching around but there is plenty of available material on there! I have downloaded at least half a dozen or so titles alone dealing with Neanderthals! Its an awesome resource!

This reminds me of an old Arab rule that if you rape one of your sheep or goats then your not allowed to eat it, you have to look after it.............mmmmmm do ya think this could be applied here
