"Camping trip"
I love going Yowie hunting, even when you don't see something it is good to scare the c**p out of yourself in the bush at night. I have dragged friends along and they c**p themselves and want to go home. So this is my plan. I have talked a group of my mates to go "camping" with me for 3 days/2 nights. We'll go camping but it will just so happen to be in Yowie Hotspot. So after dinner when it is too late to turn back I will drop it on them that they are again on a Yowie hunting trip with me.
I need help from you guys to find a good spot in NSW that has had many Yowie sightings and is relatively close to Sydney that we can camp at (not Tablelands road)??

Tablelands road is out as that is where I have dragged them many times and they won't go. Taree sounds like a great option as it is relatively close. Does anyone know or can they PM me more accurate info on where to go in Taree??

Watagans..??
Try the boarding house dam..Don't go to something like the Pines camping grounds, it's full of idiot teens in their 4WDs misinterpreting the area for a nightclub..
I went there (BH Dam) in broad daylight and found myself looking over my shoulder quite a bit..It's pretty heavy foliage across the creek..

Well without getting into a whole big thing about it I just thought that it would be just as easy for someone to helpfully point me in the right direction but if that isn't to be well that's how it is then..

Re: "Camping trip"
If your coming from sydney way take the first turn off to the right off the hwy and go straight through the next 2 roudabouts then about 5kms up the road is Tinonee,matt13b wrote: Taree sounds like a great option as it is relatively close. There are a few at the end of Careys Road, Tinonee. Hillside on the left. There is a creek that runs along the roadside not far in that is good for prints.
Or If you go right at the 2nd roundabout and follow that road for 15kms you'll end up in Wingham follow signs to Mount George. Not exactly sure where abouts on the Mount George rd the last sighting was, I'm sure the locals therer could tell you.
Cheers Dan

Try and get your hands on some Yowie books and you will soon learn where the hotspots are! Also try and go that extra yard in finding specific locations by doing a little bit of investigative work. Eg. Sometimes its as easy as letting your fingers do the walking!
Taree`s a good idea due to the recent Mount George sighting. Sometimes yowie sightings occur in Flaps as occurs in the UFO field. You`ll have a lot of sightings in a given area in a given time period and then it`ll just go cold! If I had the time I would probably head up that way for a few days myself.
Also don`t give up on the Blue Mts. There are a heap of other good spots besides Tableland Rd! As I said get your hands on some research material and have a look at where the recurring encounters take place!
One more thing - take a heap of photos (and take any other recording material you might have eg. sound recorders, video camera) cause you`ll never know what you might capture.

Rules of debunking
Any conventional explanation is better than none.
Don`t bother me with the facts my mind is made up.
If one can`t attack the data, attack the people, it is easier!
Do one`s research by proclamation; investigation is too much trouble.
