The Bucket experiment
This is an old "experiment" which Dean and Joe Know but I thought I would put it online for fun.
No one can prove what is on it..
And no..Jerry would not have bothered to fake it.
Jerrys house had a lot of activity early 1990`s where bipedal beasties were seen moving round at night..there is a classic footprint from his yard in Croppers book with his story in it.
As a bit of fun,he hung a plastic bucket on fishing line, over a cliff.
The bucket had fruit in it.
This was to try and stop possums getting to it.
Jerry then snuck down at dusk(he had one old neigbour living next door, no on else)and placed the tape deck inside bubble wrap, and then hid the tape deck.
Joe and I can vouch for how resilent the tape deck is...I left in in a hot spot in kangaroo valley several years ago without any cover and went in at night to get it back..and it had survived rain..!!
Okay..the small "thump" sounds are the sound activated tape deck turning itself on.
21 seconds-something "walks" up to the bubble wrapped tap deck hidden.
50 seconds-train sounds
108 seconds-train
Something is still fiddlying with the bubble wrap
234 seconds-The food bucket hanging is hit with a "stick'?..bucket was found about 4 metres from th base of the cliff with some of the food gone.
241 seconds-birds
Then "it" fiddles with the bubble wrap.
The end.
There was no footsteps leaving the tape deck.
If you want to rationalise it..Jerrys elderly neighbour spotted him at dusk..he then snuck down later in the dark...some how found the tape deck..played with the bubble wrap..wacked the container into the gully..
But we dont think thats what happened..
Judged by the trains/rain/chopper? and bird sounds the bubble wrap fiddler was playing with the plastic for several hours between about 1am and dawn..
No one can prove what is on it..

Hey Stainmaster..outstanding experiment have you guys done any other activities to entertain the yowie or test its intelligence problem solving levels ? i like it
Some might have...I will think about what I have lying round and post but others will know of a few tests I am sure..Joe..???
Neil tried a few "games" and appeared to get a consistent response.
I will post up his experiences in the next few days..I had a reluctance to post video here before because it was a slight hassle and often would get cricket noises as a response..
Now it appears that at least a few are interested, even one of my favourite "sceptical" guffaw guffaw.. stalkers is interested and contacted me..
Get a life tiger and move on..
Re "experiment"
I have previously found a rock pile in the bush hidden away from a track..I kept altering it and telling my girlfriend that something kept fixing it back up..she said i was imagining it..
I knew it was a yowie..
So..I wrote a note..and left it there with a blank bit of paper and a pen..
I was going to crack this "case" wide open..
Next day the note was there with writing on it..a yowie is talking to me..
Err..no..some guy had built a rock cairn in memory of a lost mate and was asking me to stop taking it down..

Re: The Bucket experiment
Yep this was a really good experiment..... and is covered in detail in The Yowie book - what would have been even better would have been to set up a motion-activated camera to cover the area around the bucket. Then again they cost MONEY! Lots and lots of money!
Rules of debunking
Any conventional explanation is better than none.
Don`t bother me with the facts my mind is made up.
If one can`t attack the data, attack the people, it is easier!
Do one`s research by proclamation; investigation is too much trouble.

Re: The Bucket experiment
Happy NY everyone!
I wonder if we could devise a simple language (using symbols) that tells the big guy that we mean it no harm and wish to establish
friendly communications. Imagine using playdow (sp) to cut out symbols and leave some for the big guy to use as I am sure he will
be able to workout what to do with it.
Ok I admit, cannot get that famous "Close Encounters" song out of my head, followed by a tune called wishful thinking lol.

Re: The Bucket experiment
$2 is a bargain. The prints have taken pride of place on their desks. Next they will want a ghost footprint.
Nice video interviews of Neil et al by the way. I look forward to hearing about any activity up that way, I feel like a yowie trip.
Further on the stick formations we talked about - admittedly the location is shaky since it was the famous Creek brothers who reckoned it was a hotspot. However, you could check these photos out:

Sean was there for the above trip.

And some similar ones around your area:

Am I imagining this? Some of these stick formations were definitely "made". I guess the question is - who would be out in the middle of nowhere doing this in the hope that someone else wanders by and finds them. wouldn't the mysterious maker be better off faking footprints?
