interesting history and similarities

Yes, it's true, I have way too much time on my hands some days and wander places I probably should not go.

Hey NoPolys

Thanks for that link the similarities are very interesting, the seven to Eight foot tall, have hairy bodies like a bear, are great hypnotists, like to Imitate birds, throwing rocks, even a sense of humour are traits I know the Yowie to have.

The one that has me thinking is the ventriloquism or “throwing” ones voice? This is the first I have heard of this as a trait of Yowie or Sasquatch.
Ventriloquism is an act of stagecraft in which a person (a ventriloquist) manipulates his or her voice so that it appears that the voice is coming from “elsewhere”, usually a puppeteered "dummy". The act of ventriloquism is ventriloquizing, and the ability to do so is commonly called in English the ability to "throw" one's voice. However, the term "throwing one's voice" is misleading, because it implies that a sound's physical origin has changed, when really the change has been perceptual and not physical.

I saw that too Chewy, if you give it some thought, it may be a case of location in the US reporting. The areas I have been there that are said to have Hairy Friends are often in canyons and valleys. Sound does funny things in these environments I'm told, I dunno, I'm the deaf guy in the group..... kinda embarrassing when you hafta ask a 7 foot hairy person to repeat that last yell.....
