Re: Strange image baffles investigators
I'd greatly enjoy making all of those people's cars break down on a dodgy, dirt road 1000km out of town.
Seems like just some other mob looking to make a fast buck out of the buffy/supernatural/xfiles/twilight generation. Wtf? Dogs bark? Something fell over? There's tracks, in some tall grass, near a pond, near a built up area presumably full of walkers, families and stick-fetching mutts during the day ? Some vague warm patches under some trees? Looks like a populated area, short maintained grass, cutesy ponds... is it that outlandish that they just disturbed some young lovers out for some leaves-in-the-hair action?
Jael's a cutie. Sort of. Actually I don't know, natural beauty will never win out in the face of unnaturally shabby camera work. David wouuld give it one star.
If you really want to see cute, check out the 3:50 mark where you can see her unmistakeable expression of "I don't think I'm being paid enough / this guy's a tool/ it's cold/ these shoes suck for a night in a park/ I should've gone to my mate's place/sorry, I'm sleeping WHERE?". Disturbing, yes. Paranormal... eh.
Sounds like someone cheaped out on gear in the first place, or failed a recharge cycle. I have encountered a fair amount of time loss, watch-death and digital weirdness over the years but there are one - or is that at least 10? - too many much more likely causes of battery short-time than some paranormal thingamie. I'm all for paranormal thingamies but they can't be blamed that your props man is a bit of a unit, or people were using the groups gear over the weekend.
I liked the "something just fell over in front of.... oh, I mean, camera three just fell over" (damn, fudged up a line there, hope I still get paid
) part. And the bit where they basically ran tense, tacky music in the background of some muppets running around in a park, in the dark. Wait, that was almost all of it, by looks.
Really... weirdness speaks for itself. It needs no background music and it is has any, you kind of end up wishing you never hear that track again.
Maybe working in a building full of nasty tales and dead people has left me jaded but I think I've had a more disruptive time in my local supermarket.

Hey Crypto I agree with you to a certain degree and I like the fact that you came to a logical explanation first.
But I have to say I enjoyed watching it, no matter how tacky those shows may be I get some pleasure out of watching them.
Maybe it’s just me but I love anything to do with the strange and wacky which makes me a strong believer in the paranormal.
Who knows they could have been on to something. I certainly believe in creatures unknown walking this planet and it took a yowie sighting for me to come to that conclusion. It’s certainly more enjoyable than having to sit and watch the latest YouTube clip of a Justin Bieber song that’s for sure.
I am with them on the batteries going dead thing I know when we were at the Blue Mountains a few weeks back my torch batteries went dead on me and they were brand new, then I went and tested the torch out at home once I got back, low and behold my torch is working again. I am not too sure as to why my batteries went dead on me, maybe it was the cold, I know the cold can seemingly drain the batteries in some cases.
The fact that one of their cameras fell over and then they see some warm patches on the FLIR suggest to me that something strange may have been going on, and I don’t mean just a lovers tiff under the trees, I always like to keep an open mind about this sort of stuff, like I say it takes a Yowie encounter for me to do so.
I like the fact that they went to the effort to investigate every possibility other than having to jump in the pond for a look.
Anyway I enjoyed watching it,

Yup I know what you mean, I have a maglight that I can put brand new batteries in, test it before going out, then bugger me, as soon as I need it, it just fades away. As soon as I get home, I have a whinge to my wife and say that bl***y Maglight, hit the button to show her how it died and it lights as bright as day. The Energizer Bunny moves in mysterious ways!

It's a bit like sushi. Shop stuff is alright, and eventually will lead you to making your own, which rocks
I had someone at my place with a TI cam one night. Was pretty effective to the 500m mark, or thereabouts. Interesting seeing just how many large and small night animals were staying put in the scrub until us silly two legged types went back inside. In treeless areas, it was very hard to establish distance... eg, is that a large animal quite far away, or a small animal up close. The glowing points these guys found looked and acted more like a couple of startled critters - how many legs they had, it's hard to say but the vertical alignment of most images would imply a biped, maybe hunching. Much like a kid scooting back out of the quiet spot they were just enjoying.
I guess it's not a bad watch. Less aggravating than politicians, less worrying than the news. Still, it doesn't show or even really suggest anything strange going on, and I'd swear "camera 3 fell over" boy got fudged between an old line, and what he was told to say on the night.
I'm all for awareness, and accept as a fact certain aspects of paranormal happenings. Unfortunately, I can't help but think things like that programme just ads to the nonsense aspect and generally lower the tone.

The most interesting part seems to me to be at 5:28 when the screen splits. Look at the right side - they look to be orbs, moving quite quickly around him. But they don't seem to mention that...
