A while back I posted photo's of possible evidence of "Yowie" activity, at a disclosed location, but more than a yr on I have only been back there twice, on those occasions I was presented with some startling evidence, for which I will soon display on this site, and to this day there is still a total lack of wildlife, I have seen little to no evidence of Koala's, Wallabies, kanga's and Goanna's which were quite present in these locations, there is a abundance of food and water.....
I have some tree break photo's which I will post sooooooon, when I found them I was to say the least a little excited, but that excitement soon disappeared when I realised the strength it would have took to do the damage I saw on these tree's, unfortunately the ground where these breaks are is quite compacted so there was no discernable prints...bummer....

P.S, the spot where I found the tree breaks "was" 1 of my favourite fishing spots, I don't like goin there anymore by myself, that time that I discovered those tree breaks, a voice inside my head said we should leave now, I haven't been back there since. A female jogger who I use to see regularly jogging in that area, told me she doesn't jog in that area anymore, she said that she felt like some1 was watching her and it freaked her out, she sticks to jogging on side of the road now....
There was a story/account of an incident occuring in that area in the 80's where four boys camping, saw a hairy giant with red eyes, at night, it was nicknamed the "shambling man"..... Now the drought's broken I think he's back.... I've seen the the foot prints in damp sand, I weigh 120kg and I couldn't make the same depth impressions or match the size of the prints and they were fresh, my guess no more 24-48hrs old, and where these prints are located is a regular fishing spot for many fishermen in the same area.......

In regards to “can Yowies swim?” I don’t know of any accounts in Australia of them doing so, but I do know that Bigfoot or Sasquatch can swim, in fact from memory there is a whole chapter on Bigfoot/sasquatch being known to swim in the book Raincoast Sasquatch by J. Robert Alley. If you can get your hands on it it’s a good read.

its unfortunate but due to the heavy foot traffic of us humans at that fishing spot, it was only luck that I found them, they're similiar in size to the 1's that posted a while back but due to the soft sand they are more seeable, the funny part about it is some1 has trodden wihtin the print unknowingly and their foot is about my size 10 the print would easily be 5-7inches longer and 2 1/2 inches wider with that big toe, the other is a bit more degraded, due to some nob with work boots walking across the print.... so as soon the computer back you will see the photo's

In addition, there were mentions of one or more on one of the river islands, this would indicate to me they either swam or they now can use tools.... heheheheh

Anyway thanks for posting them up, no disrespect to Tony and Paul the book is a ripper and I have read all of it, but I haven’t thoroughly read the reports section of the book, must get around to doing so. I feel a little guilty that such a prize possession of my library is only ¾ read.

I admit to being intrigued by bearindawoods question.... I remembered the water / hairy man connection, but I looked up the exact cases. I guess after a couple reads of Healy & Cropper plus a couple of readings of Ruby & Mikes book usually back to back I'm getting a bit blurred to exact references .

They aren't "old" books here, but well thumbed. I even got my Princess (wife) to read Healy & Cropper .... and overheard her talking about it with her son, I think we are going to have another interested party here soon if for no other reason than he gets to play with the cameras and ropes...lol.

Bear, we should talk..... that story is well known to me, having been related to me by one of the young people involved that night, back in the early 80's (it was told to me then at a party we were both attending, as his brother is one of my lifelong friends. It was the year Halley's comet passed over Australia, 1986). Both these chaps and another great friend of mine who posts on these forums would be extremely interested to know more, I would say

Today I went to my spot and I was only there 10 mins walked a different track and whamo, I found something far greater than print, a treemarker, a treebreak.... Your saying well what the hell did he find................ clearly definable claw gouges in not just 1 tree but 3 trees, you can actually see the where it started to scratch and then the claws grab into the wood and gouge it, you can actually see the the impression on the tree before it gouges!!!! I initially thought it was axe injuries on the trees but on closer inspection it ain't no axe, some bushwalker thought I was nuts dancing around a tree going "yeh baby yeh", so after I calmed myself and took copious photos, I continued to walk to my tree break site, by this the dutch courage was going and then getting close to my tree break spot some1 or somthing threw a stone about the size of squash at me, how I knew this was I heard hitting tree leaves before it smacked into the track about 1mtr from, this sort deterred me but I persisted and continued..... then I swear I heard 2 low but distinctive growls furthur down the track but in the bush from where the stone came from .... and right then my mobile rang and I nearly sh#t my pants, my wife wanted me home, and I said, "what... right now", I cant put the response on here... so I turned tail went slowly walking back to the car....... Oh well he not going anywhere soon.... P.S You'll see the photo's once I get my tower back

I'm trying to get my head around what you mean by gouge marks...... are we talking like claw marks that wrap around the trunk in a manner to indicate territory or climbing action? Or bite marks from grub hunting? Or something else?

I hope ya have lotsa pictures with some kind of measuring stick in a few so we can get a size/ratio idea! I use a small inch/metric tape that has every other cm/inch blacked out (self made because they don't seem to be around here for purchase) so you can see it in pics. It seems to work for me, I use it when doing pictures where I want to remember the scale.

And, when is that tower getting back? heheheh

On posting my "I struck gold", I found that my pictures were temp transferred to the laptop we using in interim while our tower is getting a new mummy....lol
Now I took into consideration the wind factor but all other trees of various sizes around and close to the these were undamaged, I saw no sign of human influence..namely kids climbing up to break the trees and the largest of three would have at least 3-5 boys to pull it down and there was no indictation of this due all branches being intact or scuff marks on the ground from multiple shoes, the twisted one spun me because I'm quite tall and strong and could not see myself twist break a tree at ground level, I showed the photo to a islander friend and he said, "you'd to a big lad to do that", I said, "what about you" he replied he'd give it go but he doesn't think he could do it, now my friend's from the Solomons and his nickname is "Tiny" he's 6ft 8 and weighs in at 178kg, if he couldn't do it then who???
P.S strangely since being back there some1 has cleaned up the trees and wouldn't even know this had occured.....

Actually no hippie juice..... I didn't think to measure the distances apart for each of the "claw" marks..... on 1 of the trees the marks was at my head height, I'm 6ft 1 ..
