I just stumbled across a couple models of Sanyo camcorders I haven't seen before. The Xacti models seem to be a very good outdoors style of camera. Digital, Waterproof, High Def, Fast start up, decent optical zoom and two styles for what fits you best.... the regular looking camcorder box style and a flip style that looks more like a hammer if that suits your hands better. From the little I looked at on youtube, the video is no worse than other vids on there as far as colour and resolution.
I could have bought three of these for what my Sony cost me (no, not gonna change... Sony fits my need better and I have a LOT of plastic bags!!).
Just a thought for those of you looking to get a camcorder, they seem to be what is typically thought to be important in knock around equipment; cheap, good enough to get the job done, and waterproof & knockproof for those oops moments we all have.
Just in case someone was looking

Re: Sanyo camcorders
I can't remember what company does it off hand, but they "waterproof" cameras. Kinda like those silicone cases you get for phones, but for various brands for cameras. I have a silicone casing for my phone and its 10x as splash/waterproof now, and it bounces more instead of going *fall, crunch, fall apart*. Once I find the company, etc, i'll post the link.
