I did school work experience at a goverment lab . Some of there work was looking at new species.
Goverment labs don't diesect living new species . Thay look at them for 2-3 day and then return to where the species was found.
I still have family working there and I do send them stuff to look at eg. INSECTS, FROGS.
If you have something , You can get it looked at by UNE'S and MUSEUM. There are a lot of good people who love to help.
Rangers are good people two who love to help.
!DON'T BE PARANOID! and have a good day.

From what I remember, several park rangers have had encounters with yowies in the past & have reported it. Hell, I think even the police have been called out thinking it was a home invasion, only to see the fleeting figure of one of the big guys hightailing it back through the bush.
..people don't tend to notice him standing there in the last frames..

Dedicated coverup organised on high, I doubt it.
Tendency of all depts and sectors to suppress opinions held by staff that tend to go against the "party line" - entirely possible.
Otherwise we'd have a lot more currently serving air force people admitting to seeing things zipping around the sky, we'd have a lot more serving defence people opening up about our tacit approval of torture and war crimes, and more centrelink staff coming clean about their many blatantly discriminatory processes and leanings
But organised high level coverup specifically about yowies... I doubt it.
Course, the thing about a good conspiracy is, you don't know it's going on
