A Night In Springbrook
Just got back from a little walk through springbrook national park with a couple of mates. Some strange things were noticed but had possible explainations. Started walking through a wide well used trail at the first park we came to. I didn't expect to see or hear anything because two of the four people I were with were a little noisy and couldn't really appreciate the calmness off the area. I was also with a friend who has had his own sighting. Every 50m or so along this trail, were saplings bent over the trail. They weren't broken anywhere along it just bent over the path. Other small trees of the same size nearby werent effected. We encounted 4 of these sapplings over a couple of hundred yards. Seemed weird to find only a few trees bent and to see them bent only over the path. Seemed strange to me. But the weirdest part of the night happened at another walk at at a popular lookout. Sightings have been reported at this spot in the past so it's always worth a try I think. By this time everyone was having a good laugh about the "yowie" and were walking back from the lookout along the trail when we heard a pretty solid thump sound. I thought I imagined it and heard what I might of wanted to hear but everyone stopped in their tracks and immediately turned their torches to the area. It happened about 50-70m from us in thick rainforrest. Everyone confirmed they heard the same noise. We stopped, turned our torches off and listened for a bit but couldn't hear anything. If we were still at the lookout, the noise would have been really close so I wanted to go back and check it out but no one else did. Haven't heard of any sightings for a few years so not sure even if the hairy man is still up there. All these things may have explanations. Deffinatly worth going up again. Any thoughts about the thump sound? Or the saplings? Are any of these yowie related? Or am I getting a bit too excited? Lol
