Thermal video of Sasquatch?

Unread post by Shazzoir »

Just found this, folks. Worth a discussion, perhaps?

The swaying back and forth thing was very interesting to me.

Great insight into how they navigate around areas they are suspicious of. That rocking back and forth could look a bit like a tree to the naked eye but the thermal image is very clear that it isn't.

Thanks Shazz

Speaking about thermal images, what would be the result if the following were to occur in a known hot spot.

a) Gather a group of guys/girls for a few days, with a budget of $1000
b) Hire a chopper for a few hours each day for searching
c) Set the chopper with a thermal camera
d) Have a crew of people on the ground ready to investigate if heat signatures are detected.

Could this work.

The problem with hiring a chopper is that the cost would be prohibitive. To charter a helicopter for night flight it has to be a twin engine aircraft and that's gonna cost you about A$2-3000 an hour.

Even a day charter in a single engine is going to be about A$600 an hour.

I would love to be able to do this for you as I fly choppers for a living every day all around the Sunny Coast hinterland. I do keep my eyes peeled and always have a camera with me but the night flying I think is out of the question unless we can find a multi millonaire to help us.

It never ceases to amaze me how many wonderful members we have here, and the diversity of experience and skills that pop up!

Huey, welcome and thanks for that great response, you beat me to the 'cost' analysis :)

I like to think that maybe one day we'll have a member from the armed forces here who has done night-flights using a TIC and seen something odd - maybe we already do, but they are unable to discuss due to their occupations.

Oopsees, I meant a budget of $10,000 not $1,000 involving around 15 to 20 people.

Dam, I was way off in terms of aircraft hire costs, I guessed around $500 per hour for 10 hours of flying over two days, not $2,000 per hour. I would hate to be the CEO of a famous Australian airline right now!

I will keep buying lotto tickets in the vein hope of winning the big one lol.

Huey you must love your job mate, cannot think of anything more enjoyable than flying a chopper or a fixed wing craft. My job is just crunching numbers and performing analysis for reporting (how exciting, not). And welcome to the forum by the way.

Hi Shazzior,

Lets just say you are on the money with the above statement in terms of service people showing reluctance to talk. I was at a BBQ some time ago in QLD talking and drinking with several serving guys; yes we were drinking and having a merry time but no one was off their face legless as they were getting ready of a sporting event.

Anyway, I was keen to ask them about any experiences they may have had in the bush while on exercises, without directly mentioning the word yowie. I simply said, have you guys seen anything unusual in the bush; they reluctantly said hell yes [/b]there is weird sh!t in the bush.

It was not long before the word yowie was uttered, however one of the guys was a little reluctant as he said that it was not that uncommon for a group of guys to feel uneasy in the bush and have the feeling of being observed by someone of something.

I know for a fact people in the armed forces have encountered strange things out in the bush while doing exercises. I remember this one encounter where a platoon was doing maneuvers somewhere & a sniper had his longarm out and scoped in what he thought was a member of the opposite team, in a ghillie suit (ironically, they're often called yowie suits) - so he radios it in; only to find out there was no-one else around him for about 500m, and he scoped this "thing" at about 200-odd meters. Fair to say it spooked him a bit.

Then you go back to about the 50's and apparently a Russian command post caught what they thought was a spy dressed up. Locked it up in a concrete room with a thick wooden door. Next day when they came back to interrogate more, wooden door was busted open and this thing had left. They described it as "a man in an ape suit".

Do the math. (cheesy)
..people don't tend to notice him standing there in the last frames..

Chopper.... I went to the guys site to watch the 2 minute version you spoke of, and there was only a 're-creation' of it, with him showing the movents of the creature. Where do we go to see the 2 minute version of the actual creature?
