Ive noticed there are recorded sightings of big cats in the Grampians National Park.
But does anyone know of any yowie activity there? It certainly looks promising.
Staying there on the weekend.

Re: Places
A local policeman said they get reports of strange beings in the area. But that was told to me over 20 year ago.
Most Bunyip reports are most likely yowie sightings, the water used as a Hide.
So yes Selkiedarre there are reports from that area. Just find a quiet, likely looking location sit back in your car reading a book with your windows down and listen to changes in the wildlife.
PS don't read any book on Crypto stuff or your mind will play tricks on you. Oh yeah take binoculars and a pencil and paper and a reasonable camera.
I look forward to reading a report on your experience.

Re: Places
I spent 8 weeks straight in a tent in Black Range State Park in the Grampians and didn't hear or see anything unusual. I have heard alot of big cat stories from that area though. It's a spooky place. I camped west of Cherrypool, beneath the escarpment to the west of the park.
Good luck and be safe out there!

Re: Places
I'm sure years ago there use to be a regular on here that talked about all the cats out there. I haven't seen them posting anymore though, because they would have been the best one to get advice from.

funny that guy got the proof that there is big cats i nthe scrub but people still dont believe. Same with the Lithgow footage. Some people would need it to bite them on the bum before they believe it!

Re: Places
Stayed at Halls Gap (Grampian Mountains, Vic) last tuesday and wednesday night.
Ive driven passed the Grampian mountains, and they are spectacular, but never gone into them. Very beautiful!!
Photos dont do it justice. You have mountains of thick scrub within a km both sides of town.
We werent able to look around much as most lookouts and walks are still closed due to the floods they had there in January (they say should be open in around 6 months). There were photos in the information centre of the damage... surprising. Footbridges collapsed, landslides, paths covered with boulders, and some parts of bitumen roads washed away!
Unfortunately I didnt see any tree damage around close to town, and didnt hear any sounds at night (dead quite there aside from frogs)... but I can certainly see hairy guys being able to live there. Halls Gap is only the first few kms in from the northern edge of the mountains. The range is 60kms long, several kms wide, and 500-800 kms high - thick tall scrub, and plenty of river systems/waterfalls.
I would recommend anyone living down here investigate the area, I certainly will be going back.

Re: Places
It is yes, but I was just loving being there though! I was invigorated knowing that this could potentially be a hot spot. And I will definately be going back to check it out more.
