Just a quick point about the perception of the Theory of evolution by natural selection
Firstly, it probably pays to quickly outline the term Theory, and how it applies to science.

In science a Theory summarizes a hypothesis or group of hypotheses that have been supported with repeated testing.
Outside of science it means an educated guess, at best. Conjecture. An Idea.
In science, this relates to an Hypothesis.

A scientific theory is solidly grounded in the testability, repeatability and quantifiability of the evidence.
The Theory of gravity. No doubts there.
The Theory of Thermodynamics. That's basically how your car, your PC, and your espresso machine work. And the sun, the ultimate engine .
Germ Theory Right now, I have a head cold. I can culture the organism that is causing it.

The Theory of Evolution.

The Theory of evolution is not a philosophical, religious, personal and other widely speculative arena, any more than you not floating off your chair, or the sunlight coming through the window, or you reading this via the internet on a laptop.

Belief is to accept something as real despite lack of or conflicting evidence.
Science does not "believe in evolution", it accepts it as the best possible explanation, based on the strength of the evidence available. Science, being self correcting, will accept new evidence, should it appear, and should it stand the rigours of testability. If this new evidenced supports the hypothesis that the world was created by some supernatural entity in seven days, then it will become creation Theory.

This hasn't happened yet. No scientist worth their salt will say that it is 100% impossible. They will just say that based on out current understanding of the universe, it is 99.9% improbable..

How does this apply to Cryptozoology?

These animals, should they exist, live in the same world as we do. They would be subject to the same pressures and stimuli as every other animal on the planet.
No other animal can de-materialise at will. Why should Yowies?
All other animals have breeding populations to maintain their numbers.
All other rare and vulnerable species are subject to genetic problems resultant from small gene pool, subsequently hastening their extinction in the wild.
All other animals eat, excrete, reproduce and die. Be it Blue Whale or ant. Every step in this process leaves a trail of evidence to follow.

I don't believe in evolution. I accept it as fact, unless a better theory should happen along.

By what means do you know that the world is old as you suppose it is i.e: carbon dating?

I haven't actually mentioned the age of the world, but as you ask it is around 4.5 billion years.
Radiometric dating of both terrestrial and lunar rocks, as well as meteorites point us in this direction.

This however, has nothing to do with the theory of evolution, unless you are suggesting that the world is significantly younger.
