tricky question
Ok guys now before i ask this i dont wanna get flamed by anyone, its just a hypothetical question that im curious about. If someone was out hunting, say they shot a pig, and an aggressive yowie confronted them, and they GENUINLY feared for there life and shot it, what would happen next? Who would they contact and what would be done about and with the body?
Cheers Paul

Dead pig live yowie
Well if the pig is dead I guess it wont be worrying too much so why not let the big fellow have the pig and part on good terms. Go shoot another pig.
Who in the hell would want to kill a yowie anyway, if the big critters were intent on doing people in the country would be littered with corpses.
People watching seems to be a favourite passtime with bigcats and TCs too for that matter. Yowies would see a hell of a lot more people than people would see yowies.
If you did hypothetically kill this hypothetical yowie
cross yourself, say a prayer for the repose of it's soul then sneak away and forget you ever saw it. You would save yourself one hell of a lot of trouble, Big Brothers are not the nicest people and they would ensure your silence. Eh Deano.
Cheers Wally

Personally, if this was me.
I'd be out hunting with a gun, not a crossbow. And just say, hypothetically, i shot a yowie in self defence & killed it. I'd bury it in an undisclosed location, contacting several people who i thought should see it.
From there, we'd make a group decision & go from there.
But, from what i've read, shooting a yowie won't necessarily kill it. You'd need a point blank headshot (in my opinion) to be absolutely sure. Or, a shot at the base of the skull. But that's just guesswork from many action movies & books/comics.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. Run. He's fuzzy. Get outta here.

Ok most of you missed what i said, i said if you GENIUNLY feared for your life, as in its him or you. Wally i didnt say anything about shooting it to keep the pig, I mean shooting him so i can go home to my daughter. And Alex i wouldnt be out hunting with a crossbow either(not just cause its illegal in nsw) but cause i use a compound bow. Im not talking about a situation you can back out of, and im not talking about trying to kill the yowie wally or actually hunting them, i just mean what if u had no choice, and managed to kill it trying to defend yourself.

If it was possible, and i wasn't worried about its family comming after me, I would take head hands and feet, and bury the remaining parts. I think with head, hands feet, you would have enough to 'prove' existence, if thats what you really wanted. personally, I would bury it and let Dean deal with it!

I prefer a bow to hunt with than a rifle as well. Crossbows are easy to use, but compound bows have more power and flexability (there not illegal in some states and legal in others).
Now. If I was forced to shoot a Yowie in self defense, I'd be more worried about where his Kin folk are than who I'd be going to tell. Afterall, it doesn't matter who you'd prefer to tell, if his kith and kin tear you to shreds and you dont live to tell the tale.
As for taking it's head, hands and feet. I don't think I could mutilate a hominid body like that. It aint right. I'd probably pull out the trusty pocket digit camera, take some snaps and get the hell out of their quick smart.
Chances are, even if you do tell the tale, the body will be claimed by it's kin folk and won't be found again later. So a police search later, would probably find no evidence anyway.
Dam. I'd hate to have to kill one of them, self defence or not.
Regards
Folcrom.

First I would take pictures, as many is I could and document and take samples.
What I would do next would depend. If it was small (say 4/5 feet) and I had means of transporting it, I would get it out and convice a relo who owns a butcher shop to let me put it in his walk in freezer.
If it was rather large I would try and cover the area, then call for "backup" as what to do next.
Then I would contact Dean, N&J and a few other close friends with a level head.
I would be in over my head and would want the people in the know, to do their thing.

Easy answer..... You would contact us. We have a set plan that took a long time to perfect. Trust no-one else and definitely do not go to the authorities.

If you were out to prove it existence, then it wouldn't matter how many photos you took. "Experts' would come out and declare them as frauds! You only have to read about the means certain agencies will go to to hide anything that they concider a 'national secret' for whatever reason! I say head hands and feet, not because I'm some 'serial disector', LOL, but because I'm assuming the unlucky killer would be out bush and unable to move the body any other way. Hands and feet would prove it to be some sort of humanoid/primate, head would hold the brain, which would maybe prove whether or not it was related to our ancestors and it intelligence level. Lastly these body parts would be easier to carry and easier to put on ice till chosen experts could be contacted. As I said before, personally, I have no interest in proving anything, i would just be happy to see one!

While im in the no kill camp. If one is brought down so be it. I would love to see one up close I would be lieing if I said I wouldnt be in a line to have alook.
The way I see it, All a dead body would be prove to science that they are out their and anotomy. Maybe a basic understanding of them, Its just a slab of meat on a stainless bench rember. All the scientist would then disagre on the rest.
The only way of studing a live animal is if its alive.

Yep Mikka, I would love to see one up close and personal, but I would like to see it alive, I don't know if I would go and look at its corpse. Wasn't the minnessotta iceman supposed to be a frozen Alma or bigfoot corpse? Yet, they still argue over whether it was a fake or not. In the end it will boil down hat this scientist, payed for by the government says, as opposed to what that scientist, payed for by the yowie hunters says. Or so it will appear to the general public anyway

Dont worry dawn i was only joking...or was i? Lol. I dont smoke indoors even in my own house, i respect people decision not to smoke and i make sure not to upset anyone when do, besides its 12:30 now and i just had my first one, im being quite good lately. I have to disagree just a little bit mikka, (Competition No3 1st November 2008....You have just won yourself a hydration pack!!!) i been watching all the discovery channel shows and stuff on "ape men" that died 0000's of years ago, and left nothing but bones and they seem to know how they live when they lived what they ate how they ate it, i could be wrong tho if its all just guess work, if so i completely agree with you.
