Re: Scam School
Finding truths to support an unconventional view can be as equally criticized as siding with the conventional view because it’s easier to.
The limits of our perceived world is constrained only by the inability to believe.

If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the controversial section. I put that link up to remind people of the shortcomings of cryptozoology and the mainstream general consensus of our society. The youtube video makes a few interesting points that should be the source of interesting discussion, yet ofcourse it's automatically condemned as a trolling attempt by the ostrich with it's head in the sand.
Most interesting is the story of the escaped panda which was accidentally run over by a train, two hours before news of the escaped panda hit the news stands, yet over a thousand people still phoned in that they had seen the escaped panda getting around, which was impossible. That is relevant.

Re: Scam School
Now this is why we need to keep it real. Dodgy photos and video are more damaging to paranormal investigations than anything else.
I have been interested in the paranormal since I was 10 years old. I loved hearing scary stories and telling them. But it is so disappointing when you find out that the story is c**p.
During my life I have had some strange experiences mainly in the ghost department but I have seen strange lights in the bush, I have seen a large black cat that I am certain was a panther plus some large paw prints. I have had some strange footprints on my Mudgee property along with hearing things banging on the cabin wall etc
But when I tell people these things I get three distinct reactions.
There is the most common the sceptic. Reaction is usually started off with (were you on drugs or drunk)
Then there's the person who sits there with a blank look on their face. They don't know what to think.
Lastly you have the person who is interested and usually has their own story or someone else's.
Unfortunately the later is few and far between.
I've noticed that the sceptic will try to discredit you or try and make you out to be a fool.
At my job I have all of the above. Most are blank lookers but some are sceptics and one in particular is totally switched of to anything paranormal. He constantly tries to make me out to be a fool. His most common saying is (you should right a book). I don't bother talking about anything paranormal to these people.
But what I was getting at was that because I had mention lately about the yowie one of the guys at work looked up stuff on the net and the next day said to me that he was watching some stuff on bigfoot on YouTube and said it was ridiculous. He saw footage that was so ridiculous that he thinks we are all weirdos.
So I think we should be careful what we put out there and also what we accept on the site.
Sure we might catch a photo that looks similar to a yowie but if we are not 100% sure we should explain this and not say this is a definitely a yowie. This includes ghosts and UFO's.
As for any one who plays a hoax on these subjects should be totally removed from the site.
Any negative exposure is too damaging to thus subject.
Unfortunately I am still not 100% convinced that yowies exist but I am open to the idea. I have not seen one in real life so I can't be sure they are real. That's why I joined this site. Too find the truth.
Kind regards Mark
