Yowie Vocalizations
Hi all, just wondering what Yowie vocalizations sound like, has there been any recordings made?
Do they sound like the recordings of the American bigfoot? (As these did not)
Just a question, because tonight I heard some weird calls.
I live fairly close to some sale yards in Bendigo Victoria, and toworrow is the main cattle sale. (The calls were not cattle as I could hear the cattle in the background).
I was outside having a smoke and I heard these wierd calls, I started whistleing and the calls responded.
There is always Kangaroos across from our house but I saw roo's hopping toward a house across from us, as these calls happened. (Very strange).
I went inside for awhile and watched some tv,
I went outside agian to have another smoke about 1 hour later and the calls began agian but this time they seemed further away and this time they seemed to follow the calls of the cows at the cattle yard.
I have lived in this house for about seven months and my two pet Cats have not wanted to stray as they have done many times before, and as the calls happened one of my cats seemed very disturbed.
And the second time I also heard some birds chirp which is strange at this time of night.
Across from our house is some grazzing land but beyond that is some isolated bush, I have never heard the calls before what could they be?
I look forward to your posts.

I think if you like to know more on the subject, the man to talk to would be Mikka. I know that he has conducted some very valuable research in the area of vocalisations and he may be able to help you out if you ask him nicely enough.

back2nature, I know the exact sound file you are talking about. I cant find it from a quick search online and its too late to spend to much time looking for it. ( I do have it on an old hard drive if anyone really wants it).
Romeo, Far to praising in your words
I am just one of many people who carry good quality sound recording gear and I have no doubt there are many people out their that have recorded better sounds than myself
nature-man77, can you explane exactly what you heard ?

Hi Mikka, thanks for the reply.
The calls I heard are strange to explain, they happend freqently and with the same timing, the best way I can explian them is this.
They sounded somewhat like a women hollowing but more loud and very powerful and also animal like, the house across from me is curently vacant but as I said the Roo's seemed to be getting away from the sound.
Yesterday I had a look around the bush where I heard the calls and I found some large and broken saplings and also some strangly bent shrubs.
As I said the bush is isolated but often used by horse riders, in this area the whole town is surround by eucaylipt bush and all the regional parks and national parks are all only seperated by roads.
One could follow the bush for atleast 50 kilometres toward the north east.
There is also alot of old mining sites here with old mining sites every where.
The thing is as far as I know there have been no Yowie reports around here ever, but I can remember a classmate of mine from about 12 years ago talking about Yowie trails in the bush.
But whether he was joking or not I don't know.
Well all I know is that the calls I heard I have never heard before and maybe never will.
Very strange.

back2nature, sorry I do not have a website
. Some time in the future I may and if so I will let everyone know
. Seems that im going to have to swap HD's or build another computer incorporating my old HD as all my media is on their. I will let you know soon whats going on
nature-man77, I have heard exactly the same and I don't know what to make of it to this day. It was in an area that has had quite a lot of sightings and evidance come from it, so it could be possible (both I have seen first hand).
I would treat the calls as worth more investigation of that area, as it does sound by what you have said to be a good habitat. But just remember they are unknown at this stage, does not mean automaticaly they are from a yowie. Look for evidance

i recall hearing a distant sound, something like a cow bellowing, just twice,in the middle of the night a few months back.like natureman had mentioned, late night birds chirping on another night,a bit odd at 2am.
earlier this winter,a few months back,i had to go,pre-dawn, out toward mudgee,so i left before 5am.my wife tells me that after i left, she heard gibberish sounds from the gully below our home.when i pressed her for more info, she said it was like a middle eastern religious chant.(do you get the image?a little foreigner kneeling on a rug, rocking back and forth, chanting)
note;we have no neighbors that fit this description.

OK last post I had only 6 hours sleep in a 66 hour time frame and know I didn't make any sense
.
As I said im my other post hearing sounds in the bush are really just that, unless you find something else to co-oberate then. There are plenty of animals in the bush that make weird sounds and the distortion of distance also doesn't help any.
A few times I have hear something almost like "mumbling" and one of my reseach partners has heard it at close range, but I don't know what to make of it.
Here is one school of thought over in the US about the "gibberish" or "mumbling" . http://www.bigfootencounters.com/articles/fateoct04
