Re: Latest findings
The tent footage surely is intriguing. Not really sure what to make of it.
If it is legit, you must hand it to the witness for standing his ground and filming it. It looks like the Harry and the Henderson's version of sasquatch. Not thats a bad thing - could be closer to real thing than they realised.

Re: Latest findings
Watched that ages ago.
To my suspicious mind there are several red flags...
If I was a govt agency trying to keep the issue under wraps I would do several things if someone came forward with a body as Rick claimed.
1, take the evidence and substitute it with an obvious fake
2, inform mr Dyer that if he did not 'play ball' he would face a lengthy time in prison at best and at worst suffer an accident.
3, encourage him to continue to show the fake in order to encourage the destruction of any reputation he did have and destroy any chance of continuing to claim 'the guvmint took it'.
4, arrange a TV interview sometime later in which he could 'come clean' and ensure the final destruction of any remaining credibility, not just on him but any other evidence he may have now or in the future. During said interview I would not only place him looking left to right, I would clothe him in a garb reminiscent of prison attire and get many close ups of his sweating face and anxious eyes. Anyone watching this interview can see his anxiety. In fact he looks like he is lying while he is saying he hoaxed the whole thing! But that is ok because his lying eyes will be misinterpreted by the public to confirm his dastardlyness.
This exact scenario I have written into the second novel I am writing.

Real Bigfoot do not have well trimmed mustaches. Real Bigfoot do not linger when they hear people talking and cameras running, both of which are happening in the actual video. Dyer will do anything to make money off of Bigfoot, including shoot a hoaxed video.

Hey Rusty,
Save your pennies - https://www.outsideonline.com/2147851/d ... -your-life?
FLIR is getting cheaper, combined with your drone, this might open up another avenue? I wonder if you could somehow combine it with your rig.
Keep up the awesome work
Cheers,
Tom.

Re: Latest findings
Ironically, I hope you are right. Because if it was a real Sasquatch and dyer did film it as he claims then the rest of his claim could be true... that he shot it.themanfromglad wrote:Real Bigfoot do not have well trimmed mustaches. The story behind the footage, according to Dyer, is that he nailed ribs to a tree, filmed it and went out to shoot it but froze. That night he claims he nailed more ribs, it came back and this time he did shoot it in the back of the head. The claim is that this particular squatch was very used to people because a lot of homeless people were camping in the area.

Re: Latest findings
Back on topic, how do you plan on using your drone Rusty?
I have some experience with cheap drones like the parrot AR2. They are very tricky to fly, especially around trees. My videographer son is very good with them. He uses very expensive ones with long range and still has issues occasionally. For example, he lost his Phantom on our bushy block once.
I flew my Parrot up to try to find it and got it stuck about 60 feet up a tall gum as well.
It took some effort getting them both back.

Hey Wolf , I can't see myself getting another flir anytime soon and will use the drone as I have been to show viewers an aerial shot of the area I'm working in .
I crashed mine heaps at the start but haven't crashed it since , just gotta be careful . My phantom2 uses gps so it's very stable .

Problem is with drones is their noise....you can hear them a mile away ( literally ) if the bush is quiet.Rusty2 wrote:Hey Wolf , I can't see myself getting another flir anytime soon and will use the drone as I have been to show viewers an aerial shot of the area I'm working in .

Re: Latest findings
Yeah they're noisy Chris but it would be worth a try over partly open bushland .
My drone does 60ks with a tail wind , it would be pretty hard to outrun it if you were in the forest .
My drone also has a data log that you can access (valid satellite information) . Speed , altitude etc . If you captured something running in the forest at 60 kilometres an hour and compared it to a human doing the same thing there would be a large difference I'd reckon , anyhoo ........

Agreed : Hopefully as technology changes that more quieter versions will be released onto the market allowing for stealth capabilities.Rusty2 wrote:Yeah they're noisy Chris but it would be worth a try over partly open bushland .

Has anyone ever seen a "Squatch" costume that looks even remotely like the real thing?
I reckon I've seen every movie costume out there and so far Hollywood and the costume makers are waaaaay off.
Cheers

Re: Latest findings
Hey Rusty,
Just wondering after watching some of your video's they seem to watch you as your setting up. What if you set up a tarp around you so they can't see what your doing and setup some small cameras in amongst some leaves with camo, and maybe cover with fox urine or something to cover the scent. I know it sounds extreme but it might help just reading some posts about their sense of smell. By the way love your vids keep posting

Re: Latest findings
Hello Mahigan ! Some may very well watch but others will listen from a distance for sure .
As for the tarp idea , I know what you mean , it's not a bad idea . My friend actually suggested that I put my stuff in a tent , not a bad idea either .
Hidden cameras and scent masking just doesn't work , I have tried both but they always sniff them out and won't approach them . If they can smell it but can't see it they won't go anywhere near it .
Thanks for watching the video's , the next one may be a couple of months away yet .

Hi Rusty,
I came across this video on youtube of a male orangutan making calls, I think some of the vocals sound a little similar to some of the sounds you have picked up in your recordings that you have shared on youtube.
I don't know what you think or anyone else?

Hey Kezza, that first vocalisation sounds similar to one of Rustys audios. Theres some good videos with lip smacking and mouthing/silent communications which could be a yowie trait for all we know.
Some great orangutan videos on youtube. The video where one gets loose in the zoo and is dragging motor bikes around is insane. Theres another where one goes through this guys backpack while hes still wearing it and has control over him the whole time i found amazing too.

Hey Kezza , Yowie bait , the first vocalisation does sound like nickering , no surprise really .
There is a video on youtube somewhere (can't find it) of a gorilla charging . It sounds exactly like the gorilla charge I captured , the only difference was the real gorilla starts beating his chest at the end of the charge . Must be a link there somewhere .

Yeah Rusty, the Gorilla bluff cgarge does sound like your audio. The footfalls and grunts are similar.
Couldn't find a gorilla charge on you tube without them beating the chest though!
Some of these videos with the apes throwing tantrums are scary. That full grown orangutan at the zoo is half the size of a yowie and displays incredible strength during his rampage.

Yes, I believe the Yowie and other similar creatures like it in the world is some sort of primate.Rusty2 wrote:Hey Kezza , Yowie bait , the first vocalisation does sound like nickering , no surprise really .
