South Of Mount Solitary.
I have camped on top of Mount Solitary on a Number of occasions. Last time i camped at the Saddle hoping to get some Yowie Encounters but as always too many people showed up for this to happen. Anyway as i sat on a clearing looking south i Pondered if we could get into that area to do some research and i know no tourists or holiday makers would be there, This is the area i'm talking about.

"Shank's Pony" mainly. Access to Jamison Valley from Kings Tableland by firetrail. Who's to know the hairy ones don't wander down that way from Kings Tableland. Remember you're getting near water catchment area.DaveR wrote:Nice looking area Dan. Is there access?
Wasn't their a famous supposed yowie sighting in the Mt Solitary area years and years ago (by our old mate Rex Gilroy?, or at least told to and recorded by him?). My memory is probably not 100% correct.

To answer you Gregvalentine i'm pretty sure there has been sightings around that area over the years and maybe some that have never been told due to the person seeing them doesn't want to be ridiculed by saying they saw one.

Mount Solitary has been mentioned many times for 'strange things'.
That whole region has a very eerie feeling to it....probably my imagination.
I imagine one of the biggest hurdles would be actually navigating through there .... lots of untouched wilderness in there....and the odd brown snake!!!
