What is this ?
I caught something on the new 360 degree cctv trap .
I have no idea what it is . I couldn't tell you how far away it is or how big it is .
It seems to hop up from a hollow or the ground .
Anyone thoughts ?

If you grab the button on the movie file you can slide it back and forth to see the movements reversed and forwarded .

Re: What is this ?
Not that this is much help, but it could literally be anything. It could be a bird or small marsupial - I found it impossible to tell for certain, but those would be my guesses based on that video.

Re: What is this ?
Could be , if I can video myself standing in the same spot then we should get a good idea of size at least .Wolf wrote:Bandicoot?
May not happen for a couple of weeks though .
The footage is black and white because the cameras were too far inside the trap , this meant they were constantly on ir/ low light mode .

Re: What is this ?
Interesting how we all view things differently. I see it as a monkey or bird the way it stands up and walks off with that side profile. Knowing the size would rule out a bird straight away if its large.

Re: What is this ?
It moves just like a Bandicoot, or if Rusty's sizing shows it too big, likely a pig.Yowie bait wrote:Interesting how we all view things differently. My first instinct was actually a Tazzie Devil due to its shape but Rusty isn't on the Apple Isle.

Re: What is this ?
Movement seemed to suggest a mammal rather than a bird, otherwise couldn't say.

Im going by the profile more than anything. It seems to have quite a bulbous nose or beak or umm...slanted forhead. I cant tell how big it is.

I have to admit the size is my own perspective. The height comparisons will be interesting.

Re: What is this ?
I'm going to put this out there, more so because I hope it is - Tasmanian Tiger
http://cdn.natgeotv.com.au/factsheets/t ... &mode=crop
When I watch the video, it looks like the front of the animal is lighter than the rear - just like a Thylacine, and it moves off in a strange way - Thylacines are known to have a strange gate hope movement.
To be honest - my first thought was The Ozenkadnook Tiger followed by any of the thought to be extinct thylacoleonids
Don't think we will ever know by this footage though.

Re: What is this ?
What ever it is , it's small .
There was a small log at the location which it may have hopped up onto .
In the photo you can see myself bending over collecting leaves in white overalls in the same spot .
Because the video is so vague I won't bother looking into it any further ..........

Fair enough. Im guessing without any features it would need to be at least your height to be anything of interest.Rusty2 wrote:Somewhere around a foot high Yowie bait , unlikely that it's something .
