I highly recommend this interview for all field researchers. It ticks all the boxes for me and covers a range of experiences all field researchers may encounter. This guy could easily been myself or Dean Harrison, recounting our research experiences in either Hazelbrook, Beenleigh, or Oakview. The similarities are just plain eerie. Thanks for posting the link.

I wasnt gonna say but yeah an excellent and i believe very truthful video. Its not just researchers either. I had very similar experiences last year. Whatever they are, theyre able to convey emotions and meanings. I believe theyre highly intelligent..well compared to me anyway!

He appears to be talking to an "interviewer" who is off-camera, but all the better for letting an erudite speaker give his account with no interruption.

PS I'm yet to have a "yowie experience".

Greg, if the word paranormal is included it should be on AYR - Yowie Controversial, Conjecture and Fringe Subject Matter Discussion. Don't be afraid of the paranormal posts you may even be enlightened.

Science/technology versus the paranormal, one is on a hiding to nothing and it ain't the paranormal.

I would have to say that if you look at the individual board descriptions, I would humbly suggest that they are not so definitely delineated, and many posts in either could arguably be included in one or the other, as they IMHO observedly are. Just my AU$0.02.

I would say its in the right section. Its the same thing we hear over and over with the dread which could be infrasound,a natural talent in animals and verified by science. Could be psychic too i guess. The military and science has delved into that as well.

Whats most interesting or freaky to me is his awareness not to bother them when he woke in the night and the scream outside his house like they knew where he lived! Were they outside zapping him in his sleep?! (eek)

He also said the thing was as big as a volswagon which is impressive, especially if he meant when crouching.

I think this is in the right section. It's bread and butter field research experiences that could happen to anyone. They happened to me.

There's no conjecture. Whether anything said is controversial or not, is subjective. Having experienced similarities, it's not controversial to me, more run of the mill.

I agree with Scarts.

I thought putting paranormal in the title was based more on the assumptions of the poster than what is in the video.

It is a good straightforward and honest account of his experience.

Thanks for posting this vid. I enjoyed it. Brother man seems very credible and in no way a sensationalist.

Brave, doing a public interview considering his position in the community.

Makes me ponder on the paranormal aspects of the creature. I realise I have been mostly closed minded on the paranormal aspect. To be open minded throws up too many questions? Gives me the shits just thinking about it.

Someone f*ckn shoot one already

Uh no, not really. I didn't need the word "paranormal" mentioned or spelt out for me to decide to use it.

Very interesting interview. Those furry people know how to manipulate us well. Thank goodness we humans don't have the same skills-can you imagine? Those skills would be put to use for the 'dark side'. People would be zapping you when you'd be buying a pair of socks or picking up a latte HA! Just really seems to me many of them DO want us to know about them but always draw the line. I am not clear if he has completely dropped out of research-must have been extremely bizarre to have the 3 AM 'warnings' and the shout out at his house. That is why I asked earlier if anyone had anything odd occur at their home-several US researchers have reported this happening. Thank you for the link

I was talking with Gary Opit the other day and he mentioned that the barks I'm collecting may also include infrasound .
I checked . Two of the 3 files I looked at had infrasound included in the vocalisation .

While looking for infrasound and it's effects on animals I came across a Cliff Barackman article where he explains his thoughts on infrasound .

A quote from the article "These “growls” might not even be audible, but they could be accompanied or covered by an audible vocalization."

http://cliffbarackman.com/research/arti ... nfrasound/

So , in the above video , the guy gets nervous , uneasy , frightened etc . Maybe he was experiencing infrasound and didn't know it .

Great article Rusty. Thanks for the link! Is there a way to detect infrasound with a portable device?

Im sure ive been zapped. I always put it down to my limited bush and directional skills but later i think " what happened there?".

A few times im sure ive been staring right at them only to find myself back in the car just like ive read researchers say. Again i think about it later and it makes no sense. If you are out looking for them then why walk back to the car when you think your seeing one?

Maybe its even possible to have an encounter and not even remember it if infrasound can get so severe?

Yep , Red Vox infrasound detector . But there are conditions

This guy has a spectrogram app , not sure where he got it from though . Shouldn't be too hard to find something similar .

Thats a cheap option if the apps actually work. Ive tried the emf detector app but i doubt it was the real thing..?

I wonder how the yowie would go if some infrasound was directed at them. Might be a way to attract them..or maybe really piss them off!!(oops) (taz)

I find the 'science versus paranormal' dichotomy to be obsolete. Research involves fact-finding, even if the facts you identify can't be explained.

Adobe Soundbooth has a pretty good spectrograph. Editors use it to clean up sound while editing video footage in Premier Pro. It comes with the adobe Creative Suite which costs mucho moolah for those who don't want to 'crack' the trial version. Apparently there are plenty of registration keys for older versions online... not that I would know (no no)
