Hey Paul , I've sent you a PM .
If it is something then the hair ID program will have no match . That's all you'll ever know for sure and it won't prove the existence of yowies . It's a tough gig .

Common Mistake #1 - handling samplings with bare hands/fingers. Introduces doubt about possible sources of contamination and of DNA related to humans and can be used by critics to invalidate any DNA test.
Common Mistake #2 - expecting too much just from microscopic hair sample identification.
There is no slam dunk process - it all revolves around collecting enough samples over time to be more certain of an identification.

Remote collection of animal DNA and its applications is conservation management and understanding the population biology of rare and cryptic species
Just as a an aside Rusty have you delved into the DNA testing arena yet for your own collected samples?

That's right !TrevorPeters wrote:There is no slam dunk process
I have looked into it but it's in the too hard basket . I gave away all the hair samples from the feeding sight and only have the 2 hair samples from the dark figure .TrevorPeters wrote:have you delved into the DNA testing arena yet for your own collected samples?
For every piece of unknown evidence I've tried to have confirmed the answer is always "it's probably just a" insert animal here .
For me , hair samples that don't match anything only add weight to another piece of evidence . They don't do anything else unless some scientific authority says so and that won't happen .

Unless the DNA is extracted and a human host is utlised to create a clone !
Wouldn't that be a clever man to do that
