Rich Germeau discusses a BF encounter on Harstine Island

Unread post by Dean Harrison »

I'm not sure if this video has been posted before.

I can relate, as it has an uncanny sense of Deja Vu for me in many aspects. Much of what he explains, I have encountered also.

It's worth 15 minutes of your time. Sasquatch Chronicles has a longer version, but this is a well explained synopsis of Rich Germeau's encounter.

Good interview

The zapping thing I can relate to from my first sighting/encounter which was near the Pilliga scrub, well..... just south of there anyways.

Lucky for me it only happened while passing through in a car, I would hate to think what that would be like if you were in the middle of a forested area miles away from anything.

It is certainly an interesting account. I've recently been in contact with a witness over here in the west. He has had some very interesting encounters, for me, they are pushing some boundaries of what I believe. However as a researcher, similar to what was mentioned, we have to be completely open minded to even the strangest accounts. It would be negligent not to be. Even though I haven't had a visual encounter yet there was certainly things that stood out for me aswell.
Definately worth the time to watch

Thanks for the vid Dean.

Yep the volume of same or similar evidence from so many level headed reputable persons just keeps on growing ........ any idea whether indigenous persons report theses experiences at all or.......... as a matter of interest I will ask some friends and see what they say.

It's a good interview. I think it was linked on here a few months back .
Very well spoken and a "reputable" witness as theblackstump mentioned. A policeman i think but still a bigfoot researcher which makes him a nut to any outsiders.

Thing is, whos to say whos reputable or not? These things happen to all sorts of people. Is a woman singing in the bluemountains reputable or a rev head driving in the gold coast hinterlands whos just had a fight with his girlfriend?

Are the yowiehunters not reputable because they had a few drinks on the night of Deans ormeau attack or the potheads smoking bongs in the car in one of Mike Williams youtube audios?

Racists and even most non racists will scoff at the Dreamtime and Aboriginal lore and i doubt a racist will believe a hispanic or native american either.

Im not particularly fond of politicians but have no problems believing Bill O chee and his encounter.

We can pick and choose but the fact is, all types of people are having these similar experiences and still no one is buying it.

What this bloke in the video is talking about is the level of conversation that yowie research needs to ascend to, otherwise i think it will remain stagnent and continue in the same boring loop forever.

Hopefully this fella in the video will help convince my wife and a few friends or at least make them think a bit.

I'm curious as to what you mean by remaining stagnent and continue on the same boring loop?

Hi Slats. I mean how we discuss the same things over and over and pick and choose what and who we listen to depending on our belief system or, bias or agenda.

I think we need to move on a bit. Even a simple thing like infrasound is a problem for some to accept and its being found in all sorts of animals.

If we have our minds made up already , which is hard not to do, we will miss other important things or behaviours.

On the other hand, i know researchers need to be hard on themselves. Take Yowiedans article in the yowitimesd(free plug!) about tree bends and breaks. Hes gone to a lot of trouble researching trees
In different conditions and kind of debunked them a bit which is good too.

Everyone is different though. I dont really care what type of homo or whatever the yowie is. Theres not enough bones found to make it valid for me but still ill keep an open mind and am enjoying reading about it in "hominids with harry " in the yowietimes for example.

Im sorry about spelling. I have my old prescription glasses on. (thumb up)

My Sighting can be read here first http://www.yowiehunters.com.au/index.ph ... wales-1998

Firstly I should add I wasnt driving I was only a passenger, no one else in the car saw the creature or seemed to be effected by the "feelings" which I would now describe as being zapped. Why I was the only one to experience this I do not know other than I was heavily into Meditation and other spiritual things at the time and was off the grogg for years which may have led me to be highly sensitive.

However to elaborate on the above, the "feelings" I got on numerous occasions all on the one afternoon (dusk) in the space of about 20-30 minutes before I saw the creature were that of dread and oddities.

Like something was out there but I couldnt put my finger on it a really strong presence, the best way to describe it was, and is, DREAD. Then something really odd occurred I felt as though something was projecting onto me a sense of "Height", like I am big stay away.

At the same time I felt light headed, and a bit confused by the whole "feelings thing", after a amount of time passing by this spot in the car the feelings dispersed and I was back to normal.

Then up the road a bit I saw a creature like a small man about 5ft, all shaggy hair matted like dreadlocks walking away from the road. "Thats odd, I have just seen an Alien" I thought. Little did I know at the time it was in fact a Yowie.

Many days later I put it down to a kangaroo, I dont know why other than the mind couldnt accept what it had seen.

Thats the basis of my sighting, the feelings, and being zapped.

I should add that I was lucky in many respects because I got to see a Yowie from the comfort of the car.

Others have not been so lucky with the zapping.

Thats amazing Dion and sounds like the same area a mate and I experienced 'the min min lights' which defied all logic when i think about it. I too was in passengers seat. Later a huge storm was brewing and in the lead up we saw other wierd things running along the hwy.

I notice when i was open to the more spiritual type thing, i had some very odd happenings. Maybe you were more open to this type of experience and thus singled out?

You make a great point Yowie Bait and I would agree with you.
I also subscribe to Yowiedans and find myself using it very much like a guide as I'm relatively new to field research.

If we as researchers and citizen scientists, both armchair and field, remain objective and open minded and maybe with a healthy dose of scepticism we'll be able to get further in our pursuits towards the Yowie.

I'll admit that I was somewhat closed minded to the "stranger" side of Yowie evidence. Although I believe in ghosts and the like, I couldn't digest the "stranger" side of things. It wasn't until I spoke to some witnesses that I truely opened my mind to all the possibilities.

I think my wife nailed it in a conversation we had once after I finished reading "The Yowie" when I was struggling with some of the evidence.
She said that couldn't accept the "stranger" evidence because I was so fixated on the flesh and blood and wanted it to be completely that instead of being open to all possibilities.

Sounds like the same area or is the same area? Sounds kinda freaky seeing the min min lights and other weird things running along the Highway, could you elaborate on the other weird things?

IMO There is a good chance that built up energy from a storm could contribute to strange energy of other sorts.

Hi Slats
Your wife nailed it allright. Yeah i was not open to any weird stuff . It was all flesh and blood as far as i was concerned. Any spiritual or paranormal infuriated me actually and any encounters different than mine i thought was b.s. . I wouldnt even read the paranormal chapter in the australian yowie book. I think ive learned much more since opening my mind a bit and reading other people's experiences and would even say my mind was forcibly opened by what i experienced myself.

Hi Dion. I say similar area as my mate says that was or near the piliga we were driving through at the time when i asked him recently. I knew nothing of the areas even though we had been up and down the newell 30 times or so.

My job was to keep the drivers awake and make sure they pulled over if they started weirding out. Im prone to insomnia so no problem to tap into it when needed.

The storm predicted was so bad that even the truckies had pulled over at a servo for the night before a blackspot and warned us not to go any further but we kept driving.

During the buildup i noticed not one but two( at different times) manlike shapes. The first one running beside the van(!) which i shrugged off as id started drinking. Later i think the second one actually ran in front of us. I said to my mate driving " did you see that?" or something similar and he says " yeah he was in a hurry" and we never spoke of it again. This is in the middle of nowhere.

I know its a cliché but they looked like the predator and running along in a familiar fist pumping action like a sprinter. I never once though it was yowie related till recently.

As for the min mins. I could assume they were ball lightning because of the storm buildup but i dont think they were. I cant see how they were visible for so long and crossed in front of us like they did. It was like time stood still a bit as we watched them pass in front of us and off into the bush on the other side . How this is possible while we were still driving/moving, i dont know?

We had other weird experiences on other trips as well including van slapped by a" huge bloke" and ufos buzzing planes on a trip i missed as i stayed on in melbourne that time.

Yes i think it all depends on your state of mind. I saw a creature last year around sunset that fits your description. I noticed it in my peripheral vision coming down the other side of the gulley towards me(bluff charge?) and immediately thought " s#@t that must be an adult junjudee".

It then walked away from me on an angle, eyeballing each other the whole time. Strangely like you i thought it was an alien in a hairy jump suit. Didnt once think it was human and it made no sound while it walked.

What i did next was bordering on insane. I immediately walked up to where it was and sat on a log with my back turned to where it went and mucked around with my binoculars before eating an apple and leaving one on the log.

I then went about my normal bussiness with something following me around just out of my vision. I wasnt scared but freaked a few times and took photos of the area where the noises were as if that would protect me.

When i went back a week or few weeks later, i could not find the log for the life of me and became very disorienrated and was walked around in circles and back to this dead chicken in one of the gulleys. I somehow ended up back on my teack to the car twice before giving up and going home.

Thinking about it now i wonder if i was getting zapped and maybe the chicken was a trade for the apple i left?

Thanks YB

Sounds like you have had a few strange things happen over the years.

The Pilliga area is of interest to me as you would expect as its the kind of area or similar to where my sighting took place.

Thankyou Dion. Ive always wondered about your encounters but didnt want to ask. I know these things can be hard for some to discuss and even now after writing all that, i feel shaky and have a feeling of impending doom. Considering im about to embark on some ceiling work in this intense heat and storm brewing , thats probably not good! (eek)

If it makes you feel any better sometimes I feel a little shaky too after discussing this stuff, the more you talk about it though (to the right people of course) the better you feel.

There is some weird stuff out there, and this forum provides a bit of peace of mind to those that need it.

Thanks to you both YB and Dion for sharing.
I have a question for you both:

Do you believe that it is a spiritual phenomenon or physical phenomenon i.e. infrasound?

If you are referring to the Zapping then;

In this particular instance, Its my belief that its a spiritual phenomenon, my own personal experiences tells me this (everyone is different to their experience), mine was like a forced telepathy of energy, best way to describe it, an energy that is forced upon another through whatever means which currently I cannot even try and explain scientifically.

If telepathy uses infrasound then by all means its infrasound, but my gut tells me its something more than just that. Infrasound is currently used/described because there is no other terminology to use for those that have experienced that irrational fear, disorientation, confusion, which is not the norm.

Hi Dion
Yes I was referring to the zapping, thanks for your reply. It's certainly an interesting thought and I believe that it maybe part of the reason why the bush has that deathly silence during some encounters.

It would be interesting to experiment with infrasound both transmitting and recording. However it would be an expensive experiment.

Hi YB, Two friends of mine who did not know each other both had an eerie experience with the min min lights back in the eighties. Both driving home late at night along secluded roadsides and were trailed for some distance by 3 to 4 red orbs. These two roads were probably only a few kilometres away from each other and neither of my mates would have had any idea of min min lights and both would be very dismissive of any paranormal activity although they are now very much more open-minded.

Spot on with why the bush goes quiet, literally the fear of dread goes to every living thing.

In regards to the experiment yes would be interesting but also pointless IMO, they would know before you even started trying the Infrasound what you were trying to accomplish.

Hi Dion,

The little town of Pilliga is one hell of a scary town stuck in the perimeters of the Pilliga forest. I could imagine all types of weirdness happening around that place at night. Great place for anyone to check out. (eek)

Hi Yowie,
It appears that both you and Dion have had more dealings with the supernatural/paranormal Yowie than most although you could probably add Wellymon, Themanfromglad and others to that list.

This is not surprising because Yowie(Bunyip) and Bigfoot/Sasquatch are traditionally very much based on the folklore not myths of the indigenous peoples of Australia and America where they know they are dealing with mystical beings. Non-indigenous folk are now searching for evidence of these creatures and are now experiencing what the Australian aboriginals and Native Americans and First Nations people have known and lived with for millennia. The more research we do the more we should come to realise that these are not descendants of prehistoric apes or any other prehistoric species but more to do with supernatural origins.

As I've said before that I believe Yowies/Bigfoot are a combination of the physical and paranormal although the physical may not be as we understand it. I don't comply to the Flesh/Blood/Bone theory and unless we can come up with a dead or alive Yowie/Bigfoot in the present era and not some report from a bygone era then I'll stick to my assertions.

We will no doubt continue to seek out these creatures but we must be prepared for some very unpleasant experiences as you yourself Yowieand Dion can verify. The ride is going to become a lot worse as they are here for a purpose and it isn't benevolent. (scared)

Sounds like your speaking from experience there senses?

I've passed through the place Dion but there is no way I'd stay there at night. I'm not one for tempting fate although I would know how to deal with an encounter. I have no desire to seek out a Yowie just happy to read about others experiences. (sweat drop)

Yes there's some weird stuff out there alright. We are lucky to have somewhere to discuss it. I'm sure i sound like a nutter to some but thats all good. Just putting it out there is enough sometimes whether i get a reply or not! (thumb up)

I have a question for you both:

Do you believe that it is a spiritual phenomenon or physical phenomenon i.e. infrasound?
Hi Slats. I believe there are spiritual type things all over but especially in the bush. If yowies turn out to be spiritual or interdimensional beings that can take solid form i think it would actually make a lot of sense from the reports we have access to.

From what i have read about infrasound, i cant help but wonder if that is what my mate and i experienced when we were screamed/ roared at towards the start of our encounter.

It really did slam into us like a physical force and we just couldnt move during the duration of the scream. The stink didnt bother us, neither did seeing the thing but the roar just paralysed us and seemed to hold us there like a captive audience till it was over and then we bolted as if we were set free.

Maybe it was the fear that held us there but it was very odd indeed. Couldve been a psychic hold as well as Dion mentioned or a bit of both. It really was like being in another world being in close proximity to the big hairy bugger.

The different images in my head as well as the loss of memory from before the incident also makes me wonder if we were zapped.

I also do think I have been zapped a few times more recently. I do get lost occasionaly but sometimes its so weird i really do wonder. I have felt the dread a couple of times and have had to force myself to keep going or into the area of interest i have to crawl into but it was like i was getting blocked out and should have taken heed.

Ive also experienced what i can only describe as feelings of joy and had some very strange animal encounters where theyve acted very out of character.

I could go on but ill just say that if you think youve had a glimpse or sighting when your out and about, dont immediately brush it off as nothing as it could very well be something and your not seeing it right. Hope thats a help!

Wow Thanks YB I'm certainly starting to be more opened minded to the whole phenomenon and hopefully my own research will be fruitful.
Cheers
