Blue Mountains backyard invasion?
Does anyone have any info on this supposed back yard invasion? I suspect Paul is a member of Yowiehunters, but if there is a back story to this, I'd love to hear it..

Re: Blue Mountains backyard invasion?
This video throws up more questions than answers.
I am not entirely convinced of its authenticity. Simply because of 2 main things:
1) Why was the camera work so bad?
2) Why edit the footage after 90+ seconds? Surely if it was legit you would want to film the outcome?
Like Mulder ( X Files ) : I want to believe but in this case....nope.

Re: Blue Mountains backyard invasion?
The footage looks typical of a 1st generation phone camera, might explain the lack of audio also.. The things that really strike me as odd is its limb proportions and the Cat/dogs behaviour and "cruel" outcome..
Is there even an Ape suit that looks remotely like this?
There's always the possibility it could be a decent home made job, even resembling the description of a few Yowie sightings I've heard, this being one of them.....
https://youtu.be/SPL4VNBgtmw
Take note...
*Big round head
*Short fur on body
*Facial features obscured by hair

Re: Blue Mountains backyard invasion?
Real or fake this vid is the most interesting one I’ve seen for a while. I agree Chris about the camera work
and why did he stop filming, maybe to save the dog or him or herself from being attacked.
It does seem to have an unusually long arm when it takes a swipe at the animal confronting it.
Going by the glimpse of the handrail of the stairs and the general height of the trees, the tan coloured wall
looks about 7-8 feet high so if the supposed Yowie stood completely upright it would be about 8 feet tall.
In the first few seconds when it moves left to right it looks really big in body mass.
I noticed Pertys80 you said cat or dogs behaviour. I thought the same thing because the general silhouette
of the animal confronting the Yowie looks feline and in its fast leap over the retaining wall.
Are cats that brave ? a bit big for a cat as well. This feline appearance could be because of the blurry film.
In all the BF/ Yowie reports I’ve ever heard where dogs are involved, the dogs run for their lives.
Did the dog smell nothing and know the human was playing some game in a gorilla suit ?
Reasons I think it’s fake: Dogs usually run for their lives, poor camera work stops too soon and the yowie
moves back again from where it came instead of just running off.
Also in broad daylight in someone’s front yard is a bit odd.
Reasons I think it’s real: It looks really big for someone in a suit when it first moves left to right
and if you were going to fake a Yowie why would you do it in the front garden in daylight against a wall
that makes the shape stand out. You would do it at night against some shrubbery to make the fakery blend in.
Also the still image looks convincing.

Re: Blue Mountains backyard invasion?
The pet bounds over to it like a dog, but then the stance looks like a Cat, back arched and tail raised..
Cats can be weird things, my mums old cat had no problem chasing stray dogs off her yard..

Maybe dogs only run when they get a whiff or possibly zapped by infrasound.
One thing I noticed from the still, from its knee to the top of its head there is at least 12 courses of Bricks. If each brick is 100mm high, plus the 10mm of mortar in between, you're looking at about 1.3 meters between the bend of the knee to the top of its head..
Doesn't sound like alot, but if you were to measure the same distance standing in the same position, what would it measure?
I tried it, and roughly estimated only 600 mm between knee and head, I'm just shy of 6ft..
Its hard to tell how the property is set out, but I imagine the right side of the frame is a corner, hence the reason why it possibly back tracked..

Re: Blue Mountains backyard invasion?
I have just a few concerns that lead me deciding that it is FAKE as.
The filming starts and stops at the same point- behind the shrub, making me feel that it is a scripted scene, with a start and a finish point.
The guy in the suit isn't overly big. Compare his size to that of the house cat.
The house cat bounds up to it and really kind of ruins his theatricals. I don't believe that a house cat would amble up to an apex predator like that. Also, would a Yowie take a swipe at the cats snout, like a human would to chastise it.
The arm proportions appear to be similar to a human.
Finally- in broad daylight, and in someones yard, with people there to photograph it
Fake.

That's if it is a house cat, there is every chance it could be a dog.. Pets come in all shapes and size's, however the good old fashioned brick has remained relatively the same size for decades.. Imo, a far better scale to use..hillbilly wrote: Tue Jun 05, 2018 7:37 am The guy in the suit isn't overly big. Compare his size to that of the house cat.

Re: Blue Mountains backyard invasion?
I need to make correction before I get called out on it, a standard Aussie house brick is 76mm high, plus 10mm of mortar makes each course around 86mm in height.
So the 12 courses from the knee to the top of the head should roughly measure 1032mm..
I had a work mate measure me in the same position
, 630mm..
I've got another work mate who is 6'8", I'm gonna convince him to assume the position for a measure up..

Re: Blue Mountains backyard invasion?
So as not to make assumptions we cannot assume that they are standard bricks until we have accurately measured the wall.
There are 5cm bricks made for feature walls and such.
https://www.midlandbrick.com.au/bricks/ ... -trend.asp
So it would be naive to label all bricks to be a certain size without proof, and then go on to make overall measurement assumptions.
Assumptions. They mess me up right regularly.

Re: Blue Mountains backyard invasion?
I don't know anyone that would pay for a more exspensive brick and twice the labour to build a wall, just to have a stucco/render Finnish..
I measured my workmate today, he's 6'8 and around 160kg, a big boy..
He positioned himself as best as he could and I measured 800mm..
Now giving the "guy in the suit" isn't hard up against the wall and the camera angle maybe a little off, there might be some slight scale distortion perhaps..

No need for much discussion here, its Fake Fake Fake. Why would a Yowie be out in front of a house in suburbia??? We are hardly getting any good footage at all and there is this Yowie out in plain sight!. FAKE!!!!

Yes mate it was uploaded on here and these type of videos tend to be reuploaded by new members to this forum. Re: Blue Mountains backyard invasion?
Where was this taken? Does anyone know? Specifically, I mean. The Blue Mountains is a huge area. Some locations are quite isolated and see a lot of wildlife, while others are very busy and urban. If this originated in one of the more urban areas, that tells us a fair bit.
Other than that, I found it oddly compelling. That cat, I suspect, is well to the fore of the 'guy in a suit', so appears larger. It's running back towards the critter, not along the wall. Primarily though, I'm impressed by the arm length .. which appears to be entirely usable (not an extension, IOW). The swiping at the cat is another oddity. Any reasonable 'faker' would just put the cat in the house and re-shoot.

Not all houses in the Blue Mountains are in 'suburbia'. Many are quite isolated.yowiedan wrote: Sun Jun 10, 2018 12:50 pm No need for much discussion here, its Fake Fake Fake. Not even a fumble or struggle of any sort, just one clean swipe.. A little too smooth for a guy in a suit, cats have a quick reaction time, unfortunately not enough this timeinthedark wrote: Tue Jun 12, 2018 2:26 pm Primarily though, I'm impressed by the arm length .. which appears to be entirely usable (not an extension, IOW). That's the thing, how many houses or streets for that matter have vast expanses of native bush backing on to these places? I suspect quite a few.. I too am surprised that this is getting such attention, still. This video does not prove its location. To assume and truly believe that it really is taken in the Blue Mountains is just wrong. An elderly friend has a saying "Only fools and children believe every little thing on TV."
To new members- Please don't be offended if evidence that you believe in, is judged as fake. I believe that there is true evidence out there that has been labelled wrongly too. We have to be hard on our own "proof" because the general public will be a lot harder on our evidence.

No offence taken
, however I thought the vid was worthy of discussing that is all.. Some good points have been raised on both sides..
I'm sure we have all seen many hoax bigfoot/Yowie videos, and this one isn't ya typical..
If the Steve Piper footage can even be contested (which is blatantly fake in my eyes), then so can this one.
For all you old timers that get annoyed with old material resurfacing, I apologize... Just trying to revive what seems like a dying forum..

Hey you dont have to apologize mate. Its a good thread. Got a lot of posts. I was hoping someone would suggest the cat is a black panther but oh well..All these videos should be discussed and everyones opinions count but it is a bit clicky on here. Some are a bit jaded i guess. Ayr is a great resource. Fair enough, thanks. Though not sure why they'd claim it was in the BM if it wasn't. Maybe they don't want their house identified by giving away the actual 'suburb'. Would be easy enough to find just on that front elevation .. not a lot of houses in the BMs.hillbilly wrote: Wed Jun 13, 2018 7:21 am This video does not prove its location. Probably 50% of houses in the Mountains back directly on to bush. And there are plenty down long isolated 'arm' roads along ridge tops.Pertys80 wrote: Wed Jun 13, 2018 4:19 am

Hi Pertys80, ditto Yowie bait on the apology thing; thanks for uploading it even if it's fake.
At least it’s in little old oz and the blue mtns to boot instead of Utah or Tennessee.
This Australian video might be the most realistic since the Piper footage ?
As for the ‘old timers’ I don't know what they expect.

True Pertys and Tuckeroo. At least we dont have too many ape suit hoax type videos. There is one from Oz of a bunch of tourists filming something in tbe outback. Its old mobile phone footage so very c**p. It is interesting but the same youtuber has a few other dodgy vids where they chase and corner a " yowie" which is beyond ridiculous..Pertys80 wrote: Thu Jun 14, 2018 6:55 pmThere is certainly seems to be a shortage of decent Yowie footage around, hardly surprising giving the size of Aussie and our generally low population..Tuckeroo wrote: Wed Jun 13, 2018 7:58 pm Hi Pertys80, ditto Yowie bait on the apology thing; thanks for uploading it even if it's fake.

Strange how the caption says "backyard" then the end of the clip shows a car in a driveway but there would be
easy access to bush down the side of this house, Highly likely that this house backs onto bush.
Very suspect is the deliberate shaking of the camera. The camera person is standing still but the shaking is as though
he is running like Roger Patterson.
The stance and body language of the subject is convincing though.
