Re: Rochedale Area
Chances of an unknown, unproven cryptid roaming the (busy) streets of Rochedale or Springwood are about as low as you could go. What was once part of the fruit and vege bowl of South East Qld is now a subdivision haven of mortgaged to the hilt 40 somethings.
Not likely my friend..

That whole Daisy hill / Rochdale area links up with the vast Mount Cotton woodlands.
This alone makes it a strong prospect !

This made me laugh out loud. And now I know where "Rochedale" is .. had never heard of it!Daggzy B wrote: Sun Aug 19, 2018 4:05 pm Chances of an unknown, unproven cryptid roaming the (busy) streets of Rochedale or Springwood are about as low as you could go. Meantime, it's quite extraordinary to think people are actually hunting for 8' tall monkey men in the 'burbs, isn't it. Even the leafy 'burbs, with green corridors to larger expanses of bush, are so unlikely it defies comprehension. Seems a terrible waste of research hours/money. But that's just me, and I know some would disagree. As far as I'm concerned, if it's not deep inside or on the trackless fringes of at least 10,000 acres of trackless forest, it's futile. Even then, that 10,000 acres should be well away from suburbia.

Re: Rochedale Area
That's a pretty isolated patch of bush, and it's heavily transected by roads and human activity. It's not huge either, in comparison to NSW forests. The chances of a breeding population of massive hairy mammals surviving there at all are spectacularly remote, much less surviving and remaining undetected. Re: Rochedale Area
Slacks Creek had a Report in the 80's, Carina in the 90's, Daisy Hill and out towards the Redlands from the late 90's until recently. I had my own encounter at Daisy Hill while investigating another Report from the location. Buccan, Logan Village and Ormeau are not far away in the scheme of things. I'm sure it was all linked at some stage.

A young guy that I know has always reported strange stuff on his parent property at Mt Cotton, Kangaroo's being found mangled or they looked a little eater but could be dogs......but Mt Cotton is a vast area lost of things live in the bush down there......anything is possible I guess

Re: Rochedale Area
Eastern temperate Eucalypt forests - what is arguably the best habitat for a large omnivorous mammal - cover around 220,000 square kms, mostly in NSW, and much of it interconnected. Surely a better prospect than 17kms from downtown Brisbane?

Loved that album... listened to it a million times growing up. Some great songs in it, not to mention the dramatic voice of Richard Burton... " one... loomed above Big Ben!"

Me and a mate even saw the live show some years ago at Homebush stadium, Shannon Noel was a cameo performer playing Nathaniel..
It was a bloody good show though, brought back many good memories..

Re: Rochedale Area
My daughter resides on a farm out at Rochdale the lands adjoining her acreage are heavily timbered and despite the relative close proximity to Brissy harbour a real potential.

Re: Rochedale Area
Just soooo unlikely..
I grew up in Mt Cotton and lived in Rochedale for a decade. Rochedale backs onto Burbank/Sheldon.
Sure it’s got some timbered areas but 2018 in the burbs is such a waste of time....

Re: Rochedale Area
Its easy to think Yowies couldn't possibly be so close to the burbs..
I was listen to bigfoot crossroads once and Tim Coonbo Baker was talking about the time he reluctantly investigated an area in New York city that had its share of reports over the years..
He was shocked upon arrival with the amount of sign around and concluded that there was indeed a small population there at the time.. Who would've thought.. lol
