I actually met Dave, he jumps at any noise, including birds. He kept saying " I hear a ticking noise whenever im out here", the noise was from his car under the bonnet. He rarely leaves his car but declares himself as a researcher. He is happy to show you all HIS photos, but there other peoples of the internet.
I asked him what items like cams he used, and he told me he didnt own any. When i was in the bush with him, he owned a dim torch and was in thongs, bolted back to his car if he heard a noise. The area was dead, not a yowie about, but he will say a lot different.
He is 1 panicky person that fears everything, even moving grass, and if a roos about he will say it was a yowie.
I will not go out again with him as he is full of s***. Dee

Hey there Adventure, you no what, don’t worry too much about the people who think every noise in the bush, every blury dark spot in the scrub and every piece of missing bark on a tree is a yowie, at the end of the day, we know what’s out there, yes it’s unfortunate that the press gets hold of people like the above mentioned and JnJ but that’s what happens, personally, I’ve been waiting on a call from the ABC in regards to the Nana glen meeting, but nothing yet, so don’t give up, just turn on that camera and run at it next time

Hi hominidhunt, im not to worried by them, just wastes my time going out when people r like that. Needed to ask u somethin. In another thread to pooch you mentioned something like"If you dont see a yowie throwing rocks-then its not a yowie.
I understand your comments on trees ect.. but please explain what you think can throw heavy rocks at extreme speeds in the dark with impeccable aim. Thanks Dee

Hi Dee i think he is saying that if we dont see a yowie throwing a rock then we shouldn't say its a yowie because we cant be 100% sure.

In an extreme case like yours, i cant see what else is throwing those rocks though. Youve been there over and over with multiple witnesses and had a sighting, footsteps etc etc etc.

As you said, what else is throwing them?

Hi YB and D, yep that’s pretty much what I ment, otherwise you are just like the “ other guys” , we all know what it is, but it’s saying ‘it’s a yowie ‘ won’t do us any good without a bit of proof to go with it. Ps Love you’re vids D .

Hey Dee. Itll be worth the trip by the sounds of it with those experienced speakers. Would be cool to hear Rod and others talk.

Yeah id like to go. Too many commitments these days. Hopefully someone will put it on youtube? I hope you all have an excellent time! :D (thumb up)

"What drives yowie hunters keen to prove existence of mythical hairy beast?"

Uh, I can answer that one.... its "mission creep".

Some folks set out initially to figure out the phenomena for themselves. If they employ certain techniques they probably figure things out pretty rapidly. That itself is cathartic. Its very difficult, at that point, to resist trying to show others what you've found and trying to convince them. If you restrict your goals to just figuring out things for yourself you can likely achieve that.

Trying to convince other, particularly in a country like Australia, is going to be most difficult. Australia is loaded with highly skeptical down-to-earth practical people not given to wild fantasy or over-the-top speculation. The evidence down under will have to be very compelling. Its still an existence debate here.

In the USA the debate is shifting a bit due likely to some of the clear imagery available some of which is hard to dismiss:
