Where are UFO's from?

This board is designated for the discussion of UFO's. Not our specialty, however those who do and have a voice to be heard, can speak freely here.

There is so much we need to learn and understand about this highly intriguing phenomenon.

Yet another fun song about ET's... Blink-182's 'Aliens Exist'. This video has lyric sub titles.
Enjoy!

There is a huge logical fallacy in the alien hypothesis.

I'm an aerospace engineer and a commercial pilot. It seems clear to me that there are technological devices in our skies that are not ours. What troubles me is the leap from UFOs to aliens. I just doesn't make sense.

What is more likely? That aliens have undergone interstellar or intergalactic travel to visit us OR that something organic to Earth got smart before us and developed technology? Maybe something that decided to live underground or beneath the sea to avoid the surface cataclysms that inevitably occur.

Its a matter of probability, a stochastic process.

Earth, a known progenitor of life, has more than likely has produced something that evolved intelligence before us. Our inability to accept that we have missed an entire civilization drives a belief that it could only be aliens. It just doesn't work that way.

I say we have missed two extant species on Earth. We are in the middle and quite blind.

Among all the many songs about UFOs and Aliens, in my view, one has always stood out.
That standout is Sheb Wooley's No.1 hit from 1958, the Flying Purple People Eater.
I hope you get a buzz out of it, just like I did when I heard it for the first time.

Bushyankee,

I agree the jump to alien or worse the extra dimensional hypothesis is a massive stretch from whats likely. Although, the extradimensional hypothesis takes the cake for one of the worst propositions ive heard in explaining the phenomenon.

Some "ufos" might be from more ancient sentient terrestrial life. Dont be surprised however, if you one day find out 90 percent of modern ufo sightings have a manmade contemporary origen.

The clues to how they operate are there to be analysed. Especially by a aerospace engineer such as yourself.

Oh no… the bushyankee is back. :( AYR members will recall how in previous years he was trying to have a lend of us all by posting pictures of completely worthless images. It was nothing but photo after photo of badly out of focus tree branches and leaves that he claimed were Yowies.

If you’ve forgotten, http://www.yowiehunters.net/viewtopic.php?t=5256 However, I wouldn’t waste valuable time going over this prime example of extreme pareidolia rubbish. There is no doubt in my mind he was having a good belly laugh at our expense. It’s all my opinion, but what a strange sense of humour this fellow must have.

He also claims to be an Aerospace Engineer and a Commercial Pilot. How he can currently be both, I don’t know. I have good friends who are Aerospace Engineers (25 years with Boeing) and a number of Commercial Pilots (Qantas). All close enough to have discussed UFOs with. They are professionals who are focussed on their particular career. They don’t do both. As a prominent Queensland female politician once famously said, “Please explain”.

Yeah the whole "interdimensional" thing doesn't work for me either, for UFOs or for bigfoot/yowie. I think both things are Earthly and organic.

Wow.

Guess I made an impression on you lol.

Australia doesn't have a space program so you can be forgiven for not understanding the concept of a pilot with an engineering degree. I have a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California and had a long career working on space vehicles at Hughes Aircraft Company, TRW, Boeing and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. I got a commerical pilots license in 2001 and attended the National Test Pilot school in Mojave while leading flight test of F-35 sensor fusion systems at the Air Force Flight Test Center. I've flown a few experimentals and logged some time with Wen Painter who had been a lifting body test pilot in the 60s. I also worked at a hedge fund in Chicago while on a 2 year sabbatical from Edwards AFB. I'm a world-ranked MATLAB developer. I like to ski, look for bigfoot and have done quite a bit of sailing including being on a Perf-C East Coast Champion crew in 1990-1991.

I'm not laughing at anyone here. I've been nothing but respectful towards others since I've participated here. If you continue to behave like this you will simply be put on ignore.

If I have any further difficulty with you Searcher I will simply put you on ignore. Problem solved.

My personal sortie into this subject is short so I'll describe it.

First I set a very limited goal. I just wanted to understand for myself with no intention of trying to convince others or start making videos and all of that. So for me it was "figure it out, nothing more". So I started on the technical side with the most abundant data being imagery. One site was particularly helpful because of the vast number of images with some metadata included (worldufophotos.org).

I rooted around in imagery for a few months and realized there was an object visible in photos around the world that was quite distinctive. It was just an unspectacular rectangular sort of thing but it had a large white appendage, a boom sticking out making it very easy to recognize. I found numerous images of this same form factor all over the world spanning years. Sometimes there were multiple images of this object in different parts of the world on the same day. I made a montage of the images and collaborated with others for about a year total. Out of this effort I started to develop the notion that there is something technological involved.

Then I just thought it through. It is strictly a personal opinion of course but it just seems far more likely that is something local whether that turns out be human or something else. I'm not saying aliens do not exist. I'm just saying it is pretty unlikely that they are here. Our position in our galaxy is so remote, we are out on a spiral arm in the middle of nowhere and I'm not sure we are all that interesting to begin with lol.

Thanks for the detailed response, bushyankee. It would be nice if your pictures were as impressive as your credentials. :D
You're right, Australia does not have a Space Program. However, we now have the Australian Space Agency which was formed on July 1, 2018.
It's a small step in the right direction for all of us on this island continent.

Bushyankee,

This apendaged rectangle. You have any photos you can present. Id like to see it. Also, any conclusions you've come to in regards to its propulsive mechanism? Analysing the data its obvious what a majority of the "ufos" are doing to achieve their unique characteristics just surprised most of the ufo researchers havent put that jigsaw puzzle together.

I agree the interdimensional hypothesis is garbage. Im not throwing aliens out all together. Its my understanding that life in the universe due a host of issues like the rarity of phosphorus needed to support life and how only certain small percentages of nova contain it. Odds are that although there is likely sentient life elsewhere all over the universe just not in the numbers or anywhere close that the Drake equation concludes. Im willing to bet our local cluster of systems are relative dry holes. Proxima-b,ross128, luyten and a few others are likely tidaly locked and arent holding a ionosphere. Earth might be a gem relatively speaking in our arm of the galaxy.

Also, cool that you worked on the f35 EODAS. Tired of the uninformed armchair critics dumping on her. If they only even knew.
