A few questions

Unread post by Harlem »

Hi Everyone,

I have a few questions that may have been already answered and was wondering if you could point me in the correct direction for the discussion.

I started my interest in Yowies when I first started dreaming about them (about 2 years ago). I didn’t think much of it at the time and then later on Netflix was the discovering bigfoot movie with Todd Standing 🙄 so I watched it without scepticism but soon had me rolling my eyes hard! From this experience I thought there had to be better information out there from people who are not grandstanding and I found this forum about a year ago and have been lurking ever since.

So my questions:

- Dean you had one video where you were talking about an encounter where the people were feeding the yowies and having a relationship with them. What was the outcome of this?
- Has anyone ever tried putting mini gps tracking devices in the food that they leave for yowies?
- Has there been any discussion around the capabilities of the yowie like telepathy etc (its one theory I heard regarding why they are so elusive)
- Do you think they live underground?

Sorry about all the questions. Just curious. BTW my dreams have always been gentle and benevolent never scary or frightening.

Thanks,
Harlem

Hi Harlem,
There is a few guys around who have set up feeding stations. Rusty had done this early on in his investigations you can check out his results on his YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/TheRusty222
Also Ray Doherty has also done this in his research. His blog can be found at http://theaustralianapeproject.blogspot.com/?m=1
Always be careful when feeding as it can change natural behavior and may invite aggression. It is a long a slow process to set up feeding stations and must be removed just a slowly.
As far as I'm aware no one has tried gps trackers in the food, however, they are extremely intelligent and I think the would avoid the food that appeared to be tampered with. Many researchers have placed food and it's been taken, then repeated the placement and included a camera and the food has been untouched.
There are many threads on the varied forums regarding yowies abilities. You will need to scroll through them or do a search. There are so many theories about what they can and can't do, some of these abilities may include telepathy, producing ultrasound, able to see infrared light and being able to seemingly vanish into thin air. There is some theories around that they'll dig into the side of creek beds and sleep there, they also use tree's a lot to get out of sight.
A lot it depends on the location, I and some other field researchers are currently looking at the comparisons, if any, between behavior in the Eastern States and Western Australia.
I hope this helps you, if take the time to check out the different threads on the forum you find a lot more info

Cheers

Thanks Slats for the reply and thanks for the links and info. I have been slowly making my way through the forum as I lurk and there is some amazing stuff!!

Don’t worry I am not interested in feeding them or to be honest in even seeing one. I am a believer though and was just wondering about temperaments and if they are like humans that way ie some may be kind and compassionate and chilled and some more aggressive.

Also I find the suggestion that they seem to be found around massive quartz outcrops to be interesting. Why would this be and is it true?
Sigh such a fascinating creature/human and I frankly don’t blame them for giving us a wide berth!!

Thanks again
Harlem

Hey Harlem
I think that there temperament is similar to ours. Some are chilled some are more aggressive. It depends on the circumstances, if they have young ones around, food and water sources to protect. The more aggressive ones may be sub adults setting up a territory or the like.
I've not heard about the quartz before but sounds interesting might see what I can find out about it.

Hi Harlem
There is a well know smoky quartz fossiking area at Ewingar in the vicinity of the upper Clarence river in Northern NSW that has had quite a few reports .
I am fairly certain that there is at least one mention going back about 5 yrs on the AYR page ??.
I have been out there and checked out the old logging camp/fossikers hut and had a general look around the area and it is a very likely spot .
Also recently on an episode of All For Adventure the hosts were on an island just of the coast of the NT and the local indigenous people strongly recommended that they didnt hang around the sandstone outcrops and jumpups along the track that they were traveling as that is where the hairy men were said to inhabit ?
Very interesting stuff !

Cheers
